Re: Flannel Pants

I would prefer the heavy weight flannel (350 grams). Would it be available for MTM or just OTR?

Another vote for heavy flannel.
Also, any chance of getting it in light gray?

There are over 40 colours to select from. Light Gray is one of them.

exactly what i had in mind. a light gray heavy flannel is right up my alley.

EDIT: Right up my alley means it would be perfect for me. Not sure if you guys use the same idioms up there.

Haha, We watch enough American TV, to understand. :)

Probably keep some fabric for MTM, but pricing would be a bit higher.

I'd also be interested in "heavier" weight. I'm in Boston and I have heavier trousers (400+ grams) that wear okay indoors and are incredible outdoors. 350 would no be too warm to wear indoors in my experience.

I realize that you'll have to be selective in your fabrics to make sure that it works for a broad customer base. IF you have room for a couple of less traditional colors, Epaulet had some pale grape flannels recently that looks incredible with navy, browns, and dark greens. And actually, I'd love a darker green or loden fabric too.

We'll probably run about 4-6 colours. Usual suspects, such as Gray, Camel a shade of darker blue. They have an incredible heather burgundy that is simply amazing.

Yeah I am going to need a pair of the heather burgundy, probably the heavy weight if I had to guess. Don't currently own any flannel pants.

Another vote for heavyweight - especially since I already own a pair of yours in the lighter weight from last year.

On an unrelated note, Rick, if I ordered a pair of trousers and a custom dress shirt - will they be shipped together (meaning the trousers will wait until the shirt is complete)?

Does anyone know if there is a way to set up a poll within this thread? Might be the easiest way to get feedback on the flannel Mid-weight vs. Heavy Weight debate.

I just received my two suits and I've gotta say, the model 2 fits and looks so much better than the original versions. The blue texture is by far my favourite, the swatch you sent me before doesn't do it justice. Can't wait to get them tailored and into the rotation! The blue houndstooth trousers are awesome too. Well done!

I received the two 3 piece suits. The quality of the wool is much better than the first series of model 2 suits (such as the gray windowpane). It actually fits a little bit bigger in the chest and shoulder (which is good for me) though, now it's a little long in the sleeves (bad for me). The vest fits surprisingly well!

Well done Rick. Well done.

What's model 2?

I just purchased the blue texture suit on Black Friday in slim fit. Can't wait to get it next Saturday after all the alterations will be done.

Anyone know the lapel width on the slim fit? Is it considerably narrower than the contemporary fit?

Model 2 is their revised jacket cut/pattern. They have had it standard from SS15 onwards, so that's what you got. Lapel width should be the same between fits, 3.5"

It's funny, because the changes that we made were actually very, very minor, but they made a huge difference to the overall fit and look.

Well done Rick. Well done.

Thank you sir. The light gray windowpane was a very tightly spun, high twist wool. It has a different feel than that of standard wool. Still 100% Wool, but because of the spin, has performance properties. But I agree, the feel is not as lux as our newer standard wool, especially this seasons upgrades, including our core fabrics.

What Cal said. The lapel on the slim is an 1/8" narrower than the contemporary, which is to keep the same visual effect between the fits.

That's a great lapel width for a slim cut. I prefer lapel to not be narrow so 3.375" is good.
