I have two of the cotton-linen blends with the spread collar and love them with and without a tie.

Is a 3" or a 3.25" wide tie a better fit for the lapel width on the S&M contemporary fit suits?

Yes. Both fits. And Shorts/Longs.

When will they be available in-store downtown?

If you subscribe to the idea that you should try to match your tie width to your lapel width, then 3.25" would be closer to the width of S&M's suit lapels, which are approx 3.5" wide. I don't think that a 3" tie would look terrible, or that the average person would notice of care. Ties under 3" are looking too thin for me, however.

3.25" (or 8cm, which is actually more like 3.15") is the width that I prefer, as I consider it to be the width that looks neither wide nor skinny, and I'm banking will always look appropriate, regardless of which way trends go. Even though 3.5" ties are considered a classic width, due to the recent skinny tie craze, they look very wide and old fashioned at this time (at least, that's my perception...doesn't mean you shouldn't rock one).

I concur. 3-3.25" is the sweet spot. Even with really wide lapels, that is the size I like. Less than 3 is too skinny. Even 3.5 can look a little silly when your jacket is off, at least to me.

Poppycock.  3.5 is the business IMO.  I'd say anything between and including 3 to 3.5 works.

Balderdash.  That's a bunch of malarkey if I ever heard any.

Depends on the tie too. A 3.5" repp stripe definitely looks too wide to me. Some ties look fine that width though.

At what time does this sale end? I don't want to make a purchase while at work.
