The linen BDs I wanted were sold out by the time I read here that they were released. I was amazed just now that the pink linen was still available in my size 20 hours after it was announced here and managed to get one. Too bad I won't be ever be getting the white and mauve linen BDs I wanted. I've been totally happy with the quality/price of my S&M shirts. They are certainly equal in quality to the BB shirts I have with maybe the exception of the poplin one, I'm not fond of the cloth on it.

AAS, I didn't see that you had the exact same complaint in a different reply, sorry if the tone of this is off-putting. I didn't mean it to be that way.

I feel your pain.  I wanted some 100% linen mtm shirts, but the fabric sold out pretty quickly.  It didn't come off as off putting at all.

Rick, I'm not sure how feasible this would be, but would it be possible for an email blast to go out when S&M gets new arrivals.  Something similar to the newsletter about sales and deals.  It would help to level the playing field for those who don't check the forum often or at all.

Just added these amazing summer shirts. Made from a very light weight, voile like cloth. Cooler wearing than the linen or madras.

@spiermackay, will you be selling any OTR shirts with the italian semi spread collar?

Grabbed a Lewiston and light blue pinpoint. This hopefully concludes my summer work wardrobe with 2 madras, a linen and those two shirts. Wallet needs a break.

Any plans for a walnut colored dress belt run? Assuming if so it is way way low on the totem pole.

Very pleased with all of the newer summer weight shirts. Not an aficianado by any means, but this stuff is great.

They can also do lightly fused in custom. I posted pics of lightly fused collars in this thread roughly a month ago. Link
I'm quite happy with them.

POLO30 expired and the polo 3+ bundle does not seem to be working on the site. I have a friend trying to pull the trigger but not sure what's going on.

I just reset it. Should work now.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Fabric sounds great.  Is it available in solids?  White or blue?

Unfortunately not. Only the checks were available this go around. Solid white would be almost transparent, it's such an open broadcloth weave. A solid navy would fare better.

We haven't thought about it to this point. But we have thought about elongating the points on the current classic spread by 1/4" - 3/8"

For casual shirts, I think an alternative to the button down collar would be a semi-spread with shorter collar points instead of the large semi-spread dress shirt collar, as these shirts are not meant to be worn with a jacket.

I'm all for extending the length of the spread collar shirts by 1/4", as that's what I request when I go custom. Otherwise, S&M have basically nailed my fit in their Contemporary Fit shirts. But I do agree with the sentiment above that shirts in more casual patterns, not meant for a tie, need a different collar. I don't wear any of my spread collar shirts without a tie. I also don't wear a tie with shirts that are not white, light blue or pale pink.

However, I still prefer the button down collar for casual shirts. I just like my collar to sit upright, perhaps because I have a long neck. Limp, small, spread collars don't look good on shirts to me, casual or otherwise. I also feel that those types of collars aren't that hard to find in other stores, such as Topman, or perhaps Club Monaco and J.Crew (not sure about the last two, as I've never bought a shirt from either, but I feel that I've seen these types of collars there).

I encourage S&M to continue pursuing the production of items that go against the trends found in mall-brands, but mimic those of classically stylish, but expensive clothiers that I cannot generally afford. I'm thinking of things that you see at The Armoury, Sid Washburn, yes...even Brooks Brothers. I frequent this thread and the S&M site because they've found a good combination of fits that suit a guy like me (slim, but not super tight), classic designs and materials, and at an incredible price. Kudos.

Oh, and in response to my much earlier question about the cotton-linen shirt collars...now that those shirts are up on the site, it states that they have unfused collars. Hurrah!

So Rick, is the impending Canada Post strike going to shut you down? Do you have alternatives?

It won't affect USA shipments, we ship through a third party carrier that uses USPS. For Canada, we are looking at Fedex Ground, UPS and Purolator to pick up the slack short term.
