Both and Button Down Collars, Front left chest pocket and Placket. Kept it casual and simple.

What's the timing on these being available OTR? Also, are these fabrics in the custom selection already?

Also noticed the higher button stance on these, I thought the collar was the reason it was moved down on the oxfords, how come they are moved up here? I haven't tried the new stance but I do think I will like it since I typically go top and second button undone.

@Burzan I think I know your style well enough to tell you that you'll be okay with the new button positioning, and the top 2 undone.  I do it all the time, even with Ricks more formal collars.

Its perfectly fine for the daily office.  If I drop into a meeting or a customer comes by I typically do the 2nd up, but on these particular shirts I wouldn't its Madras and linen, its suppose to be relaxed.

Basically. No sheen.

Can't agree with this more. I look at my shiny ties now and feel like I should give them away. Matte finish looks so much better.

The button stance was only changed on the oxfords because the fabric is thick enough to support it. Linen and Madras are very soft and "limp". The higher stance works better for these.

Makes perfect sense.

I see the linen is in my size... :embar:, need someone to buy those production samples off you? Will gladly buy if they are both 15.5 Contemporary. Could do a three shirt buy along with a light blue oxford.

Yeah I really think I will like the higher button stance.

Loving what I'm seeing. I expect to place another order with S&M when the new stuff is up on their site!

Aiming for Mid April. The Madras is available already for custom. The Linen will be available by next week.

Haha, I usually sample in 15.5 because that's what I wear too! I generally build my wardrobe from samples these days. It's a perk of the job.

I had a feeling you were gonna say that lol, lovely choices for the production samples and looking forward to mid April for the linen and madras to hit the site.

Yeah... I didn't think I needed any more summer shirts, but imma buy that linen.

On another note, has anyone had any experience putting their madras in the dryer? Does it shrink much?

Don't put it in the dryer. It's a very loose weave. It's gonna shrink a lot.

Looking forward to the linen. That lavender coller is pure dankity.

@Darkside

Thanks! I ordered three, two full spread and one extreme. I think I might get two full and one semi. If the semi looks as good in person as it does in your pictures, I may stick with semi-going forward. I hate when collar points are visible; this is the major reason I prefer spread.

Are those fused or unfused, by the way?

---

S&M,

Is it possible to lengthen the collar by half a centimeter or so just to ensure the collar points rest firmly under the jacket lapels?

Sure. No problem. Just relay your requests to info@spierandmackay.com and quote your order number.

We can change pretty much any aspect of the shirt. Patterns are drafted from scratch, not off a pre-existing pattern block.

I put mine in the dryer, they shrunk up and fit well now when they were a little big to begin. Some colors shrunk more than other tbh, the Aqua and the Pink only shrunk a bit in the length but the Red & Teal shrunk up quite a bit more. I think maybe the fabric weave is going a different direction between the styles.

Aqua, Pink, and Navy & Green: Probably shrunk between 1"-.1.5" in body length

Red & Teal: Maybe around 1.5"-2" in body length (very rough guesses on both)

I hang dry them now as I am happy with the fit on all of them.

Here is how they all basically looked on me new, 16 Slims. (wearing 15.5 Contemporary now in the new oxfords)

And the Red & Teal now, shortest of the bunch.

So much good stuff going on these days.  I really like the madras shirt that I got last summer, if anyone is on the fence about it you should definitely get one (new collar looks amazing).

I am anxiously waiting for those uni stripe ocdb's.

The MTM suit offer is also really tempting but I can't quite convince myself to do it having never tried on a S&M jacket before.
