Yeah, some of those Italian shirts have like a 2 inch drop from the chest and the waist. It's ridiculous.

Wanted to pop in to wish a belated happy new year to Rick and Spier & Mackay. The majority of my clothing expenses went through Spier in 2015 and I anticipate that being the case going forward as well. I'm really looking forward to your upcoming releases and the brand's continued growth! (And to finally wearing my tobacco herringbone suit when the weather heats up, the pants are hemmed and cuffed and jacket is ready to go!)

Same here and I am amazed at the quality and value. Ordered three pale blue shirts in slim and other than sleeves being a lil long, the fit is perfect.

Looking forward to more product offerings, especially the new OCBDs.

Hello Everyone,

I had a chance to wear my first suit from S&M. I got the "Blue Small Check" and it looked as well as felt incredible! I got a size 42 contemporary jacket then just took in the waist of both the jacket and vest, and a size 32 pant with just a hem. I usually use my own tailor but Ahmed did a wonderful job and I am very satisfied with the way it turned out.

All the best,

Waseem.

Wjarjis, that looks pretty sharp!

I ordered some custom shirts from S&M.  Basically I just made a couple tweaks to the fit of the 15.5 slim.  One I ordered was Thomas Mason fabric and I requested thick MOP buttons.  On the other two I just went with the standard buttons, which I like just fine.  I asked for their extreme spread unfused on all three shirts.  Hoping for basically a Kamakura style cutaway.  I'll update everyone in about a month, when I get my shirts.

EDIT: Oh yea, the shirts came it at just under $200 CAD (including 20% off boxing sale) for a whopping total of about $150 USD.  I'll take custom shirts for $50 a pop all day.  Would have been cheaper had I not chosen one TM fabric with the MOP buttons.

Rick, I am not sure if you can answer this, but does Ariel Helwani wear S&M?

This is awesome. Probably would have bought instantly if it was short sleeve. Still thinking about it.

Why short sleeve? IMO full sleeve looks better folded up.

I was surprised it wasn't a button down collar.

I have no idea. Were you looking at that shirt or suit?

A decent tailor can make it a short sleeve very easily. Our tailor can do it for about $12, which includes tapering the sleeve at the bicep so it's not loose.

Good idea. Perhaps down the road.

A question for US domiciled members of this thread.  What (if any) import duties or taxes are you charged with when receiving shirts from S&M?  I am looking at having an order shipped to Florida and was curious whether there were any additional costs in the form of import duties or taxes.

I am in Florida and paid no duties for a recent order. I have another small order inbound and I am sure that there will be no fees on this one either.

I heard that the US ignores charging duties on packages that are valued at less than $200 USD.  Does anyone know if that is true?

For apparel, yes, or at least that was the case about six months ago, which was the last time I checked.  At that point the duty if the declared value is greater than that was was around 12% if I recall correctly.

Cheers,

Except if you get product shipped via USPS. They are terrible at collecting customs and you might get any amount through.
