I prefer SuitSupply for their wider range of fits. SuitSupply use to carry almost exclusively skin tight pants, but they've released a lot of looser fits in recent years. Whereas, I find that I have to size way up in Spier's contemporary fit to get a comfortable fit in the seat and thighs, and then have the waist taken in. I also find the rise to be pretty low on Spier pants. Never tried Spier's high rise or new Hollywood fits though.

Ordered a few of the shirt collar polos and are close to unwearable after the first wash. Bought an XL and I am 6'1", 200lbs, muscular build with a longer torso and I cannot raise my arms to head height without it pulling up to reveal skin. For reference, I am wearing Levis 501 denim which is not high rise but man the body on these polo shirts is short. Also the hem likes to flip over so you have that look at well.

I'm close to your size, and I've found that ordering xxl works out ok with the cotton sweater polos. The regular polos and the merino wool sweater polos in xxl still shrunk to a point that I find them unwearable. The shrunken ones make for a nice oversized fit for my 14-year old son though 👍

I went with XL as the XXL dimensions seemed too big. Will look for something with a longer body now but maybe these will work for a more casual look?

Does anyone have this seasons charcoal VBC high twist trousers? If so, could you comment on color accuracy for their photo?

For custom shirts, I feel like their selection of fabrics is so random and unpredictable. I was getting ready to order 3 shirts, and two of the fabrics (medium blue oxford & shadow stripe oxford) have just disappeared. I wouldn't be surprising if they re-appear at some point (I've seen many other fabrics do that). Other MTM shirt companies (e.g., Ratio, Proper Cloth) seem to have many of the same fabrics for years.

Overall, I keep coming back to their custom shirts due to price, collar and pocket customization, and the fact that I have my measurements dialed in. And, I guess I will say I do usually end up finding fabrics I like... but it always feels like such a hodge podge.

I'm looking at a linen blazer/ sportcoat for the summer months (northeast USA). Any comments from those who own a S+M 100% linen jacket (or a linen/cotton blend) as to how they feel & wear compared to seersucker? I wear sportcoats in business settings, a lot of walking around to different sites. Thanks gents.

Despite its reputation as a summer fabric, cotton seersucker is tightly woven and in my experience not very breathable. If you can wear cotton seersucker in a humid NE summer then you should have no problem with linen -- however it will definitely wrinkle more. In business settings I'd personally recommend a high-twist or open-weave wool like a Mock Leno or a lighter hopsack.

Thanks, I've enjoyed linen shirts and pants for the wrinkly coolness they offer, but had not considered hopsack or Mock Leno.

a different look - linen is definitely comfortable but not as conservative-looking for business wear. depends on what your colleagues/clients are expecting.

Quite true. And luckily, as I am self-employed in a slightly offbeat industry, I have leeway to set the tone.
