Very impressive @Cleav !  I am reminded of a comment from Paul Keers' witty and erudite guide 'A Gentleman's Wardrobe' where he says the Duke of Windsor was first to wear reversed calf shoes with a suit, but now gentlemen are more easily suede :D

That is indeed a fine collection.
I find brown shoes can be worn with pretty much anything other than black.
Will brown suits ever make a comeback I wonder?
The never brown in town rule has held sway for a good 35 years now Im guessing

I remember a trend for green suits in the late 80s skinnylegs, which counts as brown in my mind!

I was lurking for a while at a Levi's Vintage Clothing Corduroy Navy Sta-Prest 1964 repro. Never had before any LVC, as it's very expensive. But the (mod-friendly) shop is having a sale, and it was 40% off !

Fits like a glove (well like a trouser...). Very nice details, and frogmouth pockets.

Monsieur, the trousers are great - I especially like the pockets.

Lovat green was very much a 'mod' suit colour, around 1967.

Is anything more arranged about the get-together in London on 21st July? I need to start thinking about booking accommodation, travel, etc., as well as some other things I could cover on a trip to the Smoke (like a lunch-date with my cousin, whom I haven't seen in bloody ages).

@Man-of-Mystery , yes the 21st is still on.  No one has suggested an alternative to the Clachan in Kingley Street so I suggest we meet there at 12.30.

The Clachan was the choice for our first Look Goes On get together and it went down very well.  It is located just behind Liberty.

I am looking forward to it.

This week's challenge poll is open, and Mr Knightley is a serious contestant...

Not so serious but thanks for the plug, Monsieur:)

So, May came and went and with it the 'Suit Event'.  It produced some very nice but not really plentiful examples.  Partly, I think, because it became overtaken rather by all the great pics of our various polos.

Do we want a June event?  If so how about 'Show us how you wear your polo'?

Yes and knitwear very big in my area. Especially a V neck worn with slightly faded Lee jeans.

Looking good, but the dude with the panama nails it.

Thanks M-o-M. He always has a great American look but here is let down IMO by belt loops and no belt, scuffed fronts on his shoes and his bow is just a tad too narrow.

I feel Upr_ is probably the best (second outfit) and I liked @RoSaCe too.

But he carries it off so well, that's the thing.
