Having worked in a conservative business dress environment in Milan and Bologna, I can tell you that knits are rather popular. But I have never seen a single grenadine worn.

monochrome simply means all items in the same colorway/hue. this is much more specific than that. it allows for much less colors and a much more restricting style.
