Damn it. I need those too.

Fok, do I get a group discount for the derby and kudu boot?? wink.gif

Of the two legitimate options available so far, I definitely cast

1 vote towards the ebony essex.

These are the double leather soles I was thinking of. Brown edge trim with a dovetail heel. I think this would look great with the brown CXL and antique brass eyelets. Thoughts?

Or if you decide to do this MTO derby in ebony essex, maybe we could do another MTO later on in a brown CXL boot like this one (instead of icy mocha as pictured) with no cap toe, antique brass eyelets, and a double leather sole with brown edge trim and dovetail heel? Thoughts?

That would look nice

I like the 2045 last with unstructured toe of your waxed flesh service boot make up. I think this would look great on a derby: somewhere between the slim 2030 and rounder 2040. The 2040 is ok, but at least in photos seems to have a slightly asymmetric almost "anatomic" contour to the toe. I would also vote for natural leather midsole with dainite outsole or double leather. No more than 5 eyelets. Ebony Essex or brown cxl ok.

I would like to see more pics of ebony essex if possible--at the Horween site they just post a description and the picture is of a different color. I know Brown CXL and like it.

As for double leather sole vs. Dainite, I might prefer Dainite only because of the increased wearability and longer lasting sole (and love that it is low profile so still looks like a leather soled shoe) but probably wouldn't opt out of it were double leather.

I vote for double leather and what happened to the natural cxl as was shown on the sample derby?

Why no captoe? These are so beautiful. They keep popping up on Viberg's instagram, but I have no idea who (which store) they are going to.

Supposedly it's a new last.

Is that awesome olive-like cxl from the 3sixteen collaboration an option for this gmto?

Would a derby with a double leather sole in brown CXL look similar to this?

I'm pretty sure that's a black Vibram Christie sole pictured.
