What about this shoe to wear with jeans, khakis, etc.?

I have struggled to find good shoes to wear with my straight-leg and slightly tapered jeans. I work in a business casual environment, and I am pushing it a bit to wear jeans almost everyday. But I need to wear them with something a little more business-like than sneakers.

I know there are other threads on this, but I wanted to get everyones thoughts on this Loake shoe, and wingtips in general.

I'd go with something AE probably, you can find something used with a nice patina for jeans on ebay.

there is quite a lot of space in between sneakers and those.

Examples? I need some ideas.

I have boots, but it's too hot for those.

That looks like a decent design, but drizzt is right, you could probably get a better deal on some AEs. Though anything used enough to have a "patina" is probably going to be kind of gross. See the "wingtips/brogues" thread and Brian SD's other dressy shoes thread for more ideas.

nordstrom rack is a good cheap place for them if you don't mind them a little banged up

not a huge fan of the detailing on those.. well, not the shape either, nor the colour, but thats just my personal taste. I dont like how they're sort of pointy but still round at the same time. I prefer either a clearly round but somewhat flat look or something slightly pointy, but in that case it has to be a bit more flat and a bit more edgy, like these.

what do you think about these n.d.c's: http://www.matchesfashion.com/catalo...d_0005_bro_583

sort of in the same style, but a bit more toned down and cleaner I think, smoother colour that imo would work better with denim for example.

i like the look of the n.d.c.'s but am a bit concerned about the quality (based on what i've read on this forum).
