I gave my natty Dundees some TLC today. I love how much they've darkened to a nice caramel color. You can see the original color near the top of the tongue.

Is the left boot darker?

Brown Shell Townley and Levi's for casual Friday... Although Monday thru Thursday is also casual. And Saturday. I need a vacation lol... Even without sunlight, a beautiful shoe with amazing depth of color. Will be wearing them more, after over a year of watching them morph color in my sunlit "shoe room" 😏

Not really. It's just the lighting in that pic.

Your Townleys have that Alden-like glaze.  Mine don't look that shiny. However, I got them before that MTO.

X-post from the AE Appreciation thread. Maiden voyage for these Daltons.

very nice Daltons...love the light welt and is it split also? cant tell on mybphone but if it is that is great
post #9278 of 9368

Thanks @Kahuna75. Yup, split welt. I know that type of welt is more reflective of a rugged boot (ala the long branch), but these will be worn pretty casually. And it seemed to pair nicely with the lighter edge. I had plans to hit the edges with chili dressing, but might leave them as is.

Nothing compared to the heyday of the SF GMTO, but a small consolation prize.

While I am on this thread... Not shell, but... Here is a somewhat recent pick-up (that hasn't been posted here yet). Normandy with lug sole - the way those boots should have been made all along.

Non-shell, rather boring compared to others on this thread spoiler: (Click to show)

If only we could turn back the clock to the good ole custom order on any sale price item days. Makes me wonder if we asked for too much on the broadstreet order - or if it was only a matter of time anyway.

That said, my local AE SM said that a limited trunk show was in the works, possibly early spring. Fingers crossed!

love that boot...agree lug would have been way to go or at least an option.

These are looking great! I like the edge combination personally.

Those are looking good as well! :-)

The mto program was doomed to be killed as we mis interpreted their intent and grew the scope of the program.

You can order an existing style with a different sole but you can't do a full MTO.  Sadly.

As long as I'm here, might as well post this --- wore one of my AE GMTOs today.
