Fantastic looking and versatile shoe. So many things right about these. For me they strike a balance of elegance and being casual enough to go many places and not need a suit. You and Pepper and really helping define what I want in my shoes. Appreciate you guys sharing these.

Thanks for the compliment! I actually just got my version of Dales navy LWB yesterday from another maker. There's an issue, though, and I'm deciding what to do about it. frown.gif

btw, didn't mean to offend by omission - many other nice shoes here too. Pepper and Watchidiot generally hit a less formal style that works for me. For those who suit up most days I get that the style is different.

Sorry to hear about the problem with the new shoes. Any pics forthcoming to make us jealous?

I don't want to talk about the "issue" until it's resolved with the maker. But they are gorgeous!

Pepper those look awesome! I'm envious! And I say that even as I already have my own navy shell LWB.

What do you guys think? My Navy Cordovan PA remake has a 9 1/2c stamp on the inside in addition to the 61/5eee. The toe cap is ridiculously small comparing to my black PA. AE swear they didn't use a 9 1/2c pattern to make my PA. These passed quality control and they're out of navy cordovan. Keep or return?

They look the same size to me. Although the caps are a little skewed. I would keep

The left and right navy pa's have the same size caps. But comparing to the black pa, they are smaller. Are they too small?

The whole pattern is shifted forward in the Navy, not just the caps) thus to me keeping it still in balance to my eye

Which makes me think they were out of navy cordovan, had a spare 9 1/2 pattern, and used that to make mine. AE's explanation for the smaller caps is these are hand pull and they must have been pulled too tight.

How's the fit?  The seem to look alright to me but if it were too loose or anything I would probably return.  If they are out of navy and no real flaw then keep unless its going to eat at you for the rest of your life.

One benefit to the smaller cap toe is you should not get any creases beyond the cap toe line...at the end of the day you need to be happy with them though.

True: no creasing at the cap.
Fit: a little bit tight at the toes, but some bulging at the mouth (ankle). Because the whole pattern is shifted forward, the v gap is larger than it is on the black PA as well.

If these were not navy, I would've returned in a heart beat.
