While I definitely got a prime pair, I must admit that morning light on my front porch is very advantageous.

Came home to find an AE box on my doorstep. Looks like my SMU brown shell Bartletts arrived!

Unfortunately, they don't look anywhere near as good as suitintieguy's Cornwallis shoes. It looks like they had trouble lasting these since the toes are kind of poorly shaped. I find this kind of odd, since the shell on these feels much more supple than my other AE shell shoes.

The 201 last is also more different from the 65 last than I thought. A 7 3E in the 65 last is too tight over my instep (and I usually size up to a 7.5 3E), but the length and heel to ball is good. In the 201 last, a 7 3E feels a bit long in the toes and has a lot of volume above the toes (although the heel to ball feels good), and the heel is very wide. I'm going to need some medium weight socks for the heel on these. I also think the higher toe spring of the 65 last looks better.

SMU brown shell Jefferson 2.0's arrived today. The shell is in great condition, and the craftsmanship appears to be excellent. Too early to make any assessments on 201 last fit versus the 65, but no complaints either. The Independence lining feels smooth as butter:

:fonz: Those don't look too "dark brown". The anticipation builds for mine :nodding:

I agree. I just got mine though, they look a quite a bit darker...I was expecting a little lighter like my last pair (brown cordovan strands).  Might be the lighting though...I'm guessing there's nothing I can do about it now either right? Can you post yours when you get them? Mine are below.

The color of cordovan will vary from batch to batch and in fact hide to hide. They should lighten over time. Enjoy them, they look great!

My color 8 rouge...I also have a brown shell rogue coming in...This pair came out really well...no obvious flaws.  I wanted brass eyelets and antique welt/edges but it wasn't allowed...I'm gonna see a cobbler about adding the eyelets and edges...

How can these be ordered? Is this a trunk show item? If so how often does that happen.

They've only had two Horween cordovan "trunk show" events, roughly a year apart.

Felt like my cappuccino Bayfields needed to be dressed down a bit so I threw on some Viberg leather laces and will be wearing them out in the snow today.
