BLACK DAINITE

I've been wanting to get the Lexington at the current sale price, but really couldn't justify another pair of leather soled shoes. However, I realized that I was missing a pair of brown shoes with rubber soles (all of my rubber soled shoes seems to be tan or navy), so I decided to check to see if brown CXL was available. Once Allison confirmed that brown CXL was available, the decision to order was pretty easy. I envision this being a pair of very versatile year-round foul weather shoes.

I am picturing them as a sleeker version of the Watson 1000 mile oxford, love the addition f the dainite too.  Congrats! Can't wait to see pics once they arrive.

The SAs at the 43rd St Store said they have sold many of them as a part of the Anniversary sale.

I've been thinking about something similar, however either natural, or golden cxl. Only think i struggle on would be exposed eyelets and wondering if it'd be to much.

Course then I look at the Rush Street for $10 more and wonder why I don't just go with that. since I envisioned similar welts and Dainite. Obviously different shoe but overall theme.

MTO green Strandmoks today. Very comfy shoe. I need some blue laces though.

I just MTO'd a pair in burgundy with a Dainite sole. Needed some bad weather shoes and the price was oh so right.

Colors by Leather:

Allen Edmonds offers a wide variety of colors depending upon the material. Basic colors are as follows:

Calf-Skin - Black, Chocolate Brown, Brown, Burgundy, Merlot, Navy, Chili, Walnut, and Bourbon (which is Walnut burnished on the Black burnishing wheel).

Shell Cordovan Colors (Click to show)

I am considering a brown MTO to fill a gap in my shoe rotation. Does anyone have any experience with chocolate brown? I looked through all the current offerings online, and unless I missed it, there are no models in this shade.

Thanks

I've got the larchmont in chocolate. It is a very dark brown, almost appears black a lot of the time unless in brighter rooms or outside.

Thanks guys, MUCH appreciated, very helpful!

I see make ups list "tone on tone" stitching, and as I see it, the thread is close in color to the leather. Is this not something that standard that needs to be requested?

If this is not standard then what is? I thought the only option was to match or contrast in color?

Thanks!

I believe that tone-on-tone is standard makeup.  All the specs are listed when you place an MTO order, even those that come as standard.

The default ness of tone-on-tone depends on the design. For example the McTavish in Black has an orange-brown stitch by default, which would be considered a contrast stitch. Most designs however do default to tone-on-tone (black thread for black leather)...

Got scared for a second when I got the shipping notice and the invoice said dark brown burnished strands x 3 and when I opened the package and all three boxes were labeled as dark brown burnished. Thankfully that wasn't the case haha. If anyone wants any more pictures, just let me know. I didn't feel like taking anymore besides these.
