Happy camper here.
Looking great , 1/2

Quote: Whoa! That was quick. Great looking gunboats 1/2 :)

^^ very nice, 1/8th. I need some brown shell.

Thanks, gents! Very quick indeed. I was also in great anticipation over just what shade of brown I'd receive. These were inspired by a pair of Marlow shortwings that I saw at an RL store last month. The color of these is almost identical to those of the Marlows - if anything it's a little richer. Very pleased.

And, since there's no time like the present to start rocking them:

The MTO English Tan Dublin Leather McAllisters arrived today.......

McAllister

Horween English Tan Dublin Leather (cow that is processed the same way as horse)
Brass Eyelets
Brown Split Reverse Welt
Brown Stitching
Black Danite Soles
Poiron Insoles (for some reason, this didn't happen)
Flat Shoe Laces (for some reason, this also didn't happen)

The pictures don't show all the weird and wonderful variations in Horween Dublin Leather. I am wearing them now and watching the Dublin Leather do the things that it does. I will polish them later and watch all sorts of other things happen......

The shoes look great, loving the color. But considering they didn't use the poron insole, will you keep them?

Good Questions....

"Will I Keep Them?"

Yes, I will.

"Why Not McTavish?"

I originally ordered Walnut Grain Calf McAllisters. Allison called me and said that there was a problem cutting the uppers and there was no more Walnut Grain Calf Left. Allison sent me a sample of Chili Grain Calf. I thought that the color was too close to my Cognac Dublin Leather Ridgeways. I then asked Allison if the shoes could be made from either American Bison or English Tan Dublin Leather. The answer was Bison, no, Dublin Leather, yes.

So that's how it happened. It started out as an order for McAllisters.

Since then, I saw the pictures of the Chili Grain Jeffersons posted in this thread. I am thinking about ordering some MTO Chili Grain McAllisters (with Danite Soles and Poiron Insoles).

Gentlemen, my latest Jefferson MTO's are in. This time around my goal was to replicate this vintage 1950's pair of AE's:

Jefferson MTO:

Specs:
JEFFERSON
1032 CHILI GRAIN LEATHER
DARK BROWN UPPER STITCH
BROWN LEATHER INSOLE
CHILI FLAT WELT
DOUBLE INDEPENDENCE OUTSOLE
WHEELED EDGES
EXPOSED BRASS EYELETS
OK, I thought about it long enough, I had to place an order. Talked with Allison yesterday and these are in the works. Sorry for replicating you order, but hey, imitation is the best form of flattery....

Hey guys. I guess with the new MTO rules the Townleys are off the table, right? Were they ever ON the table?

On a side note. I'd like to find something to do with that chili grain leather. I'm all wingtipped out...

I just did a version of the Addison in a different leather.
Maybe you have to think loafer.

What is the Addison? I'm basically looking for a blucher that isn't a plaintoe or a wingtip.

Loafer?? Hmmm.

Edit. OK Addison is a loafer.

All kidding aside though a Dundee or Leeds would look great in chili grain

I don't see any of those on the full priced area of the site. I wanted to do a MTO.

Clifton is a shoe they do for Nordstrom.

Lamont for JA Bank.

Hancock I guess is discontinued now, so you're right.

The first two they should do with the new rules. Allison told me recently that we could do McClain, but I've since lost interest.
