I just saw an MTO Eagle County on the appreciation thread and could not believe my eyes.

This was for 197 when the Eagle County was on clearance. Is there any chance this will happen again? I am kicking myself for not realizing their MTO potential earlier. If I ever get a chance, I'm going to get this exact same configuration.

Nope. They've closed the loophole that allowed those to be made at that price. Eagle County boots may be available again later in the year when we're heading into boot season, but you won't find them MTO for $197.

Is AE prohibiting the option of wheeling on MTO shoes not in the Indy or shell lineup?

I want a casual black shoe with some texture / contrast in coloring. So I was thinking....

MaCallister

Black Football Leather
Chili lining and insole
exposed eyelids
uppers contrast stitching (can I use chili?)
Wheeling / reverse welt (natural or chili?)
light brown tranparent edging
Double leather sole (JR is not an option right?)

What do you think?

Here is my inspirational piece:

It's funny that the Aldens were the inspiration for this proposed makeup because they sound pretty different . . . but I like your specs!

Woohoo!  Just got the invoice for my brown shell Leeds.  Full specs and pics to come next week!

Out of curiosity, why brown? Do they not have a burgundy shell? I think the way burgundy shell ages is amazing!

They do, and I agree - in fact I have it.  But, I like full sets.  I will now have the following:

* Dundee in black, burgundy, and cappuccino

* MacNeil in black, burgundy, and brown

* Leeds in black, burgundy, and brown

My three favorite AEs, all shell, (basically) all the colors of the AE shell rainbow.  My universe will be in harmony.

She called me yesterday. My Pebble Jeffersons I ordered on 3/27 shipped yesterday. Amazing turnaround.

Speaking of Eagle County boots, I am wearing my bourbon MTOs today. I too got them for the $197 deal... :)

Dang you guys! Because of this, I have joined in the latest Group MTO for the Crockett & Jones Harlech. Definitely not $197... But they are in Whiskey Shell Cordovan!! :-)

JezeC,

I think it sounds like it will be a nice shoe as well, but am also surprised that Alden is your inspiration. Your design is significantly different all the way to being a Balmoral versus a Blutcher.

Yeah, had I received my tax refund earlier, I would have done an AE EC MTO. Some of the shoes that came out of it were amazing. Mine would have been tan with a dainite sole and I would have cherished them forever.

:(

Till they come out with another shell color :)

I think dubs has ten feet.

GOP AE should hire you, simple yet stunning.
To be hoenst, it was the exposed eyelids and texture that made me want something similar but in the MaCallister style and also in black. I didn't want a blucher as well.

So I'm not trying to recreate the Alden shoe by any means. There were some asethetics on the shoe that appealed to me.
