What are everyone's thoughts on a CXL golf shoe? I feel like a calf grain leather might be to delicate.

Too delicate to what??? Walk around on perfectly manicured grass?? LOL.
Sorry, just a friendly poke at golf.
I have to say Allison is quite proficient at delivering bad news in a food way. I really appreciated the depth of her explanation regarding the failed inspection. Apparently they were having difficulty attaching the welt to the the danite sole and suede upper. She believes they have found why the errors are occurring and how they can resolve them. I inquired if perhaps the make up just was not possible, she assured me they have isolated the problem will be able to remedy it. However it is looking like mid july for delivery, my remedy, I can now justify suede dovers or a suede indy....decisions decisions.
Hey Half, they are noticeably darker as seen in the pics and I'm not sure why. I've seen other pics of cxl shoes that were significantly darker as well, and my Alden CXLs have also gotten a lot darker all around. I'm perfectly fine with it as I think it legitimately "adds character" and it's uniform, but it is something for others to consider when ordering.
Maybe MWS knows why this happens? And, right, as Mike mentioned, the wrinkles will certainly soon overshadow!
^^ Black.
Tif is right on this one, the oxford tends to be a more formal shoe. The antique trim makes a formal shoe more casual as such it is neither formal or casual. Almost like a shoe without a clear purpose.
These are nice and sleek. Did you order tts? Will you please post a few more photos? thanks!Black shell Rutledges have arrived!
These were spec'ed to be a complement to my ruby shell Carminas:
AE can do sleek when it wants to.
And with this . . . I report, somewhat wistfully, that the last hole in my collection (black shell dress shoe) has now been filled, and my racks are officially full. Any future purchases will be either (1) something that absolutely cannot be resisted, or (2) purely a nibbling at the edges.
So . . . what shall I start buying next?
I went antique on my brown shell strands. I absolutely love them.
But I agree, antique dresses them down a little. I live in SoCal and don't mind a casual flair.
