It's also not a batch that really speaks to me (shows that EFV and I have very different tastes sometimes). It includes a fit that of mine that I wouldn't have included (the green jacket, four pattern bingo). Though Stitchy thinks this is silly; I'm not sure if he has a point or not.
Claghorn's Jury Prize: Incontro
Best Three Pattern Bingo: Pliny / Claghorn / Betel / Claghorn

2 things.

1. your original statement is dumb. if you happen to like a fit of yours most in the batch, be happy about it. the deprecation here is poor. if you thought your fit was the best in every batch that would be one thing, but your eyes are open enough to know when you are outdone, so when you are not, enjoy it. you dress well and you know it, give yourself the credit. and if you do enjoy it, and the comment is false humility, well thats even worse. it also looks especially silly when you name yourself twice in a single awards category at the end.

im sure you will have a very smart reply, but think it over.

2. that fit you hate had 19 likes as i was going through, i did not thumb when you posted it, but i thumbed it to 20 because i knew you didnt like it and it would piss you off a little. youre welcome!

requisite emoticon so you know its from love. smile.gif

At least you aren't crazy enough to go back and find the others I skipped (this is a test).

And you're right. That's the whole point of the Jury Prize. But Incontro takes it nonetheless

For now, our little one is still too young to be able to appreciate long distance travel, but it would be great if one day I can accept your very kind offer, dear friend. I used to go mountain biking and hiking in Scotland, and I've been to London quite a few times, but so far I've never been to the Midlands, which is where you live, right? It looks very attractive judging from your pics!

Cheers,

E.

Tis indeed where we are at. Derbyshire to be precise, bordering the Peak District, 70 minutes from London. Not planning on going anywhere so whenever you're ready!

I don't look at this thread very often, but when I do, I quickly skim through the pictures, not really looking at people's faces, focussing only on their outfits.

Isn't it strange that its the same people I always think have the coolest outfits, doesn't matter what they have on, I want to get a similar outfit as we have similar tastes.

Cheers guys

Good thing! What a boring forum this would be if everybody agreed on everything.

I found it so great because there was such a good balance between CBD fits, some FU elements and some of that good sprezzatura (I don't like the contrived #menswear "sprezz" thing, but some posters here get it just right).
which were the spreezy fits you liked, EFV?
I think Nick's and to some extent Incontro's fits were somewhat sprezzy in a good way. Yours wasn't particularly sprezz, and you know it! It was great Italian style CEBEDEBE though.

yeah, those guys crush that good spreezy look.

lol, yeah i was under no impression that my fit was spreezy at all. pretty tame that one. tbh, i dont see myself as a particularly spreezy guy at all.

tbh even further, i dont even think i have a theme at all. clags has a consistent theme, so do you i think, and pingson and incontro and nick, and spoo... i am happy with how i dress, but i dont think i have any consistent theme. sometimes that bothers me, and sometimes that makes me happy. im on the fence about it.

I'm not going for a theme, but I might have one that I'm not conscious about (I mostly just put stuff on that I like). I agree about the other guys though, they're consistently great. I think I can sense a theme in your MC stuff though. Hard to point it out, since it's not exactly as simple as saying CBD, sprezzy, trad, vintage etc. I'd say it has a lot to do with fit and some recurring colour schemes.
well, maybe theme is the wrong word, but what i mean is that when i see your fits, they seem to say to me, "yes, this is that EFV style. it makes sense that he is wearing this."

i guess when you dont have a hard and fast theme its hard to see that within yourself. i know there are things i do a lot, and like you said, certain color combinations that i do a lot, but i always wonder, do i have an identity within my various fits? who am i?!

lol8[1].gif You are blue, green, brown and grey, with a lot of textures. Also, you are GOTH-RABBI!

That is a fair description, even though it kind of paints a broad stroke. I guess tho that I am pretty into textures, that is kind of a thing.

I deliberately try to NOT have a "style". I'm not sure why, nor whether I succeed.

I like to mix it up and try new things and take risks. Dunno, really.
