Today's jacket is one of the items picked up on this last trip - Ede & Ravenscroft, and the fit is exactly as it was when I took it off the rack. It's cotton, and it got worn several times over the course of my trip.

Best Jacket: Clags in green - I like green jackets more every time I see one
Best color/texture combo: Murl - the shoes seal the deal
Best Photo: FlyingMonkey - the typical "Glamor Shots" haze is gone and he's (practically) smiling!
Best "Don't Move and Keep Your Hands Where I can See Them:" SeaJen - or is it that if you make like a statue students don't bother you during office hours?
Best use of significant other to get likes: justinkapur - shameless, and awesome

Smaller batch, but due to the very high average totals of thumbs, I wanted to do justice to those included.

People's Choice: Spandexter (62 thumbs!)

Outstanding black tie award: Gerry Nelson/Coxsackie (nod goes to Cox because he's got a cello in his pic)

Best suit fit: Chocsosa/Roy Al (but for the square you might have won)/Kulata/Spandexter (one of the best all-around suit fits I've seen)

Best odd jacket fit: EFV/UrbanComposition/SeamesterLux

Underappreciated fit: Cleav, whose dashing casual English countryside fit did not garner the recognition Cleav usually earns or that the fit deserved.

Random observation: preponderance of patterned over solid ties (stripes especially seemed to show strongly in this group)

I went to Santa Barbara CA today although it was the hottest day of the year (so far) today.

Here's a picture getting on the train in Los Angeles wearing a Brooks Brothers blue blazer, blue PPBD shirt, and BB#1 repp tie, Jim Thompson pocket square, Leather Man blue and tan surcingle belt, Orvis trousers with my Hamilton 992B Railway Special pocket watch in the watch pocket, Gold Toe argyle socks, Allen-Edmonds tan suede Strandmoks, and my Santa Fe Railway employe enamel lapel pin, which I always wear when I am on the train......

......while I was in Santa Barbara, I went to the Reagan Ranch Center, which is near the Santa Barbara depot.  I saw all the exhibits and sat on a very deep leather sofa.

One of the joys of getting older is that when you need to find some vintage clothing, you need not shop for it - all you need do is open your closet door, and hope that you hadn't donated it to charity previously.

It is still very hot and humid in Southern California.  Elephants live in places like Thailand that are hot and humid.   Elephants are grey, ivory, and pink, so I thought that I might try being grey, ivory, and pink like an elephant and see if that would help dealing with the weather, since we were going to see an old school friend's husband's art at Bergamot in Santa Monica, where most of the galleries have no air conditioning.

Being grey, ivory, and pink didn't help dealing with the weather. The makers of Bombay Sapphire East Gin were giving away large gin and tonics with black peppercorns in them, so I tried that to stay cool also.

Napps ivory silk jacket, Brooks Brothers pink PPBD shirt and BB#1 repp tie, Squarextraordinare pink pocket square, Banana Republic grey linen glen plaid trousers, Eddie Bauer argyle socks, and Allen-Edmonds tan suede Strandmoks......

...and for those who are wondering what my friend's husband's art looked like, it looked like this.  This one is called "Chanel" after the French designer.

This was one of the best stretches in recent WAYWRN history.  Too many excellent fits to break down into awards, but congratulations to @JHT652 and @upr_crust

on their nuptials (and to Crusty for winning the People's Choice award at 49 thumbs).

Takeaway: when the weather cools off, school returns to session, and the Shibumi boys start globetrotting for work, this thread gets good.

Still collegiate enough...the tie (Eidos) is similar to Cantabrigian's, but I like his better. I suspect it's drier, crunchier.
