Thanks @Pliny for inducted me. I had no idea this thread existed. Cheers

Aha, mine hadn't reached 20 when I last checked (in all honesty, the thread would not suffer had it not been included), but I noticed that Cleavs excellent post had not been posted, hence my post up thread. Good thing we've got Cleav himself keeping everything in order.

Recently browsed through the good taste thread circa 2012ish and it's safe to say that on an average, the current generation of posters are the best thus far. Keep on keepin on smile.gif

It’s interesting, to me at least, both how diverse the looks are which end up here, and how (in my opinion) the vast majority of them deserve it.   I wouldn’t have predicted that given the frequent arbitrariness of the individual decision to thumb or not to thumb, but I guess the 20+ requirement tends to reduce the noise and amplify the signal.

Cheers,

Ac

One of mine seems to have been missed in this last batch, but I haven't been on desktop in a few days so I have no idea when it might have ticked over to 20 (and not a single thumb more!). C'est la vie.

But better than any single instance of a fit being included is to take a small part in the collective "cheers" of Kulata's post nod[1].gif

Really tough color to photograph. To me it's got a hint of a pale brown with a hint of pink. In the second picture it almost seems grey. I regret my tie choice and think a richer blue tie would have been better.

A few weeks ago, I went to my Class Of '65 50th Reunion.  Today, my "official" picture from the Reunion arrived.

Brooks Brothers blue blazer and ecru PPBD shirt, Squarextraordinaire ecru pocket square, and Polo Ralph Lauren tie. The tie is the old school colors. (Years after we graduated, the school changed its colors to black and orange, like Halloween.)

Here's a scan of my picture in the 1965 Yearbook.

Back then, many of us often wore tab collars (like in the picture) or pin collars.  I wish that tab or pin collars were as easy to find now as they were then.  I am also wearing an 18kt Bacchus head (with diamond eyes) tie pin, which I don't wear any more.  Suit, shirt, and tie all from Brooks Brothers.

I agree, rules (guidelines) are a structure to work with but not when it's adherence becomes borderline clinical. A lot of aesthetically pleasing fits are deliberately "shat" upon just because of slight deviations from the guidelines at that point it's no longer useful, it is stifling. As far as my fit goes, to be honest I just pick stuff based on wardrobe rotation or how I feel, sometimes it conforms and other times not so much.

So recent fits
