Herring, I bought from once. Went half size down (9.5UK) and the shoes were way too big. Full size is probably the way to go.

I second Clag's advice. US 9.5 is really EU 42.5, not 43 (depending on the last), and if Herrings uses Loake to make their shoes for them, Loakes (rebranded through Charles Tyrwhitt, in my experience) run large - go with the 8.5 UK.

Thanks for the added advise!

FYI I bought the 8.5s. We'll see how they turn out.

Anyway as those that have followed me on my old tumblr page or either of my Instagram accounts will know, I haven't had to wear a suit since 2012 and mainly wearing casual if not on my road bike (Lycra) regular basis. But there are times that do call for me to wear a suit or a jacket at a minimum, so my WAYWRN posts will be not on a daily basis as before maybe for the next few posts they will be What Was.

A BIG shout out to the StFo GODS for allowing me to use my old account and for changing the old handle (Phat Guido) to Guido Wongolini to keep things in line with my "social media" accounts.

*Don't mind the wind blowing up my quarters (wasn't beans)

*I don't believe my ankles are as white as Kent Wang, which is surprising as a road cyclist I proudly display my "tan lines"

DETAILS:
Shirt - Ascot Chang
Tie - Kiton
Suit - Patrick Johnson "Napoli" line
Shoes - Carmina suede loafers
Wife - IIRC dress was bought a few years ago from Club Monaco in HK. In fact nothing I'm wearing is new, they must be about 3-5 years.
Occasion - 1st cousins wedding (day time) last month (summer here in Australia)

One of my least Claggish fits (and another shirt, actually the twin from a few days ago, whose sleeves are too short, though at this point in the day, they've been somewhat revealed as the linen in the jacket has caused the jacket sleeves to shorten, via wrinkling, with wear).

* The above was photographed last week, but I wore the same today
** As I have not had to wear a suit on a daily basis for the last 4 years and lost almost 10% of my weight and body mass, I sold all my old suits. This gave me a great opportunity to start fresh an build what I consider the bare minimum. That is a navy suit and a grey s/coat and slightly different shade grey pants. I do have in the pipe works another two suits and will post in due time.
