I'll try to do most of the heavy lifting, though if a few other regulars could contribute, that would be appreciated. There have been several of these, but I don't think any has had its authority specifically vested in the people. So any fits from WAYWRN or MC Casual that have 25+ thumbs can get quoted here. Ideally, we'll keep chatter in the realms of the productive.

So i've been super busy but still lurking SF. Just released my spring line and thought it would be cool to share some of the shots I did for the collection.

Today, on my way to the farm.

Little late to the party today. Got time to do some actual hands-on research today which definitely is something that needs to be cherished these days.....

Forgive the hideous bathroom background. Last time I wear this jacket before I send it off to Luxire to be replicated with some adjustments in another fabric.

Working my way through the last week...

In light of this week's Friday challenge, this is probably the most FU I can do. Not a particularly loud pattern, but a three-piece tweed suit is always a bit FU these days.....

Today's look. Serious business. Haha

Maybe I should move it up to 20?

People certainly seem to be giving out likes more freely than they used to in CM... I would say that it all depends what you think this thread will be for. If it's for discussing the finer points of great fits, then I think you have to be very selective. Choose one at a time for discussion. Or perhaps 2 or 3 that provide some key points of similarity and difference. Just posting every fit that gets over a certain number of thumbs isn't going to be that useful in the way that thread was suggested. IMHO of course.

I think I'll up it to 20. The problem with selecting one at a time is that...well...I'll be doing the selecting. Or someone else will. Hence relying on thumbs.

As far as the purpose...well, I keep a Pinterest board of fits for inspiration, so I was thinking that this would serve a similar purpose for those less obsessive about such things.

Regardless, 20 thumbs is the new minimum.

Clags, I think 20 is a good call.

I learn a great deal from looking at how fits are put together, and learn more when there's an explanation or a thought process mapped out with it. Isn't that why the Noodles thread gathered momentum very well because it prompted explanation, discussion and reflection, though I do appreciate this thread has a very different angle it will provide similar benefits and more. For example, Most recently AAS talked about why he changed ties in light of a couple of queries. Another example was Eviltimeban some time ago saying something akin to some days a post he hated got rave reviews and vice versa which left him perplexed as to why.

Being able to discuss the finer points of a WAYWRN OTT (Over Twenty Thumbs, or Over The Top if you like) fit exploring alternatives would be enlightening to say the least. Particularly like it from an inspiration angle too. Nice work. If there's anything to be done I'd be glad to help sir, just LMK.

Yeah, I think there is a marked difference between 16 and 20 in terms of quality.

This is the true color of the jacket. For some reason, it photographs really bright.

This thread is a great idea. I've often wished there was more discussion on the WAYWRN thread. Thanks to Claghorn for generously taking this on.

If discussion is the goal, however, then I admit that with more than 20 fits already in this thread I'm already feeling a bit overwhelmed. If some time goes by without people contributing comments, then perhaps we might consider slowing the pace at which things get reposted, perhaps taking them one at a time and inviting the original poster to initiate discussion by posting a few words about how he thought about his ensemble as he was putting it together. Just a thought.

Thanks again, Claghorn.

Cheers,

Ac

This is a great way to document what SF likes, but there's a voice in my head saying something about heaven, earth, and Horatio.

Is the goal to have a K-Tel greatest hits of the WAYWRN, or to have a discussion? Should we be picking apart this stuff in great detail, or should we simply be basking in the glow of its popularity?

Just a quick bit of chatter....I'm always on mobile, never seen thumbs. Can't believe I made the cut for this thread. I like the idea of the thread...even if I've never seen the difference between 15 and 20. Looking forward to one stop shopping for good inspiration.

The goal is to have discussion, or at least that was the initial motivation.

The initial proposal was made by TweedyProf on the the WAYWRN thread a couple of days ago, and seconded by Institches, Sugarbutch, and others; q.v.

Cheers,
