John Wayne wouldn't have complained about a "dirty spot between my legs." he would have thanked God for his new crotch leather, and chocked the whole thing up to being a tough SOB.

phatty are you fat by any chance? this could be the reason. i recently went up from 175 to around 215 at the most because of an injury. i'm now back to around 185 and in p.t. for my injury. anyways i noticed when i got fatter the back of my neck and 1 hip started to color. it goes away with the weight. i think it's a reaction as to when skin touches skin for extended periods of time and you sweat.
