Hi guys I am Dan, I am looking for some advice on choosing a suit for my school prom.
I dont really know what I am looking for, but I wouldn't want anything too flashy or too expensive,
though I am willing spend some money on good quality if the argument is good enough ;).

I dont really know what kind of details i have to give, so please ask and i will try to answer.
Hope you guys can help me.

Are you thinking of a suit or a tux? I suppose it depends on what the tradition is at your school?

A few suggestions:

If your thinking of a suit:

1) Buy a suit that you can use more than just for your prom, so think of something like a charcoal of navy. If you want to get wild or match your date, do it with your tie because that is cheaper to change (or get rid of) than your entire suit. I don't think you will regret purchasing a garment that you can wear again in the future.

2) Seeing as how you are still fairly young, entering college, and most likely won't require a suit beyond a few occasions per year, I don't think you need to break the bank on a suit. Just find something that is 100% wool, fits, and that is suitable to as many different future uses (weddings, funerals, semi-formal events, etc.) as possible.

3) As for fit: Spend a few days perusing this board and looking at some fit critiques to figure out what your suit should and should not look like when you wear it. A lot of salespeople have no clue what they are talking about and if you are buying off the rack, you will need to do your own due diligence before purchasing and then having your garment tailored.

Trust me when I say that if you have found this website, it is a guarantee that you will look better than 100% of your classmates on your prom night.
