Well he likes the Audubon style crabs; he must have something against water fowl and other avian creatures.

Where did I say I liked the crabs? But generally speaking, I like artistic depictions of crustaceans.

My appologies, I thought I saw you bought a Audubon style crab litho. Perhaps I mixed it up with the crab plushie you have.

So I'm thinking about one more thing before I hold off for the summer. I typically go in cycles of purchases. Clothes-Watches-Art. When the new spring/summer collections come out I'll be focused more on that. Tire of it for a while, buy a watch or some art until fall/winter comes out.

I like pictures of naked/sexy girls. I just don't consider them to be an art.

I'm glad I called and arranged the sale earlier in the week. Today (last day of the exhibition, so I got to pick it up) someone was in the gallery a few hours before me and wanted to purchase this.

John Button "Untitled (#59)" graphite on paper from 1972. Also, gave me a book of poems "If I dream, I have you, I have you" by Richard Howard and illustrated with Button's sketches.

I really like his hair...

I really like this work of his, it was purchased before the show even opened by someone from the Whitney.

Also, I really like the angle of this.

thought you were reffering to Norbert Bisky, right now one of the most sought-after contemporary art painter.

SoCal2NYC, since you like to wear your sexuality on the walls, can I suggest the photographer Baron von Gloeden? And also if you're in a more virile mood, George Platt Lynes?

I won't post picture because I'm quite sure the Chinese censors would catch me or something.

I perused some of their work per your request and nudity for the sake of nudity is not really an interest of mine.

That's interesting because I think that George Platt Lynes work is significantly more relevant than the picture you just purchased. After all, he took homoerotic photographs in.. the 30s. That isn't to denigrate your purchase; more so that I thought you'd appreciate GPL more than you do.

No, I understand that; but, to me it isn't that relevant today. Same with Baron and malde nudes even before GPL. I can appreciate what they did; but, I don't want to hang it on my wall. So to me that manifests into buying something that would be a nude for the sake of being a nude.

The thing with buying the Button is partially that A) I wanted an orginal work of art B) he is a deceased artist C) I really like his other work; but, I don't have $20,000 or the space to hang a 10x14 foot painting.

I didn't want to jinx myself after the whole online shopping fiasco I had last month; but, I found this great Jil Sander picture online. I got it from a random little vintage photoplace in Kentucky and it is a press photo of Jil and her models from her first collection in 1975.
I just got it back from being framed, which was about 10x what I actually paid for the picture. I picked the metal frame since the material reminded me of that inside the Jil Sander store; but, slightly aged as is the photo. i also liked the tick marks because imagining the grid reminds me of Raf's current work for Jil Sander and also an Agnes Martin work which is one of Jil's favorite artists.

I also picked up this small acrylic "Mighty Oaks" by a local Monterey girl named Kristen de Marina. I wanted something to remind me of home; but, all the works by Gerard Martin who does a lot of farm workers was too big for what I was looking for.

Is that acrylic on paper/cardboard? I like the ridges in the surface that she painted on. It adds a dimension to an otherwise common subject.

I think that's a very odd collection to have all put together in one spot. It's very dissonant, and I really enjoy it like that. Very nice!
