But they should absolutely have their picture taken. How can they expect people to ask for their permission for a photo?

This. Most of these girls who go to Comic Con in cosplay love to have their pictures taken. That's one of the biggest reasons they get dressed up and go. What they don't want is to be grabbed and told lewd things by a bunch of strange men.

Profile on Steranko in last week's EW.

Quote:
In the universe of comic books, Jim Steranko is a superhero. While writing and drawing Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. for Marvel Comics in the 1960s, he elevated 12-cent rags into modern art, with mature themes and storytelling innovations that attacked the page and stripped it of its strictly formatted structure.
Eye-patched Nick Fury had been a second-tier Marvel character who couldn't even carry his own book — he slummed in Strange Tales with Dr. Strange — but in Steranko's hands, his adventures read like a James Bond film directed by Salvador Dalí. ''Jim's work was very powerful, very sexual, very cinematic,'' says Scott Dunbier, director of special projects at IDW Publishing. ''It was unlike anything that was coming out at the time, and to this day, there are guys out there who feel that Jim Steranko is the greatest comic-book artist of all time.''

GotG was really, really good!

I am not sure I'd put it over Cap2 for comic book movie of the year but movie is a must see.

One thing GotG accomplished is making the funniest Marvel film to date without it falling flat or taking you out of the moment. First trailer was definitely misleading with how the comedy was approached, there was still plenty but more toned down.

Best way to describe the film is that it is just fun to watch. Plain and simple.

I will no doubt see it, despite having no desire to do so. Glad it's not a rotten 100%-er on Rotten Tomatoes.

GotG played kind of like an episode of Archer with archer's more likable parts being embodied in chris pratt while his douchey parts being played by bradley cooper.

But part of what makes Archer so fantastic is that his likeable parts and his douchey parts are often exactly the same thing.
