Heard lots of good stuff about MrRobots first season, never got to watching it though.

Was it really as good as it is hyped?

I felt it was pretty involving, with solid characters, and definitely the most mature effort from that particular network -- however, for me, the big reveal at season's end was just too close to an uber-popular dude movie, and kind of disappointing.

I've liked the first few season two eps ok, but haven't finished and understand it's left many feeling cold.

eh, doesn't sound like something I need to be in a rush to watch, I think I'll go binge watch Stranger Things instead.

Stranger Things is a must watch. I was blown away by how perfect of a little time capsule to the 80's it was. Very entertaining with little to no story bloat. They were smart to limit the number of episodes like they did.

I remember the last eps of Stranger Things when the Sheriff was putting the food in the tupperware; my aunt had that same kind of tupperware in the 80s!

Two episodes in to Stranger Things and I am unimpressed. The nostalgia for the feel of the 80s is nice, but that isn't a substitute for good storytelling or interesting characters. If this were not getting such good press I am certain I would drop it now and move on to something else. My older daughter told me it gets better so I will give Episode 3 a try (watching them with my younger daughter) but I doubt I will get to EP.04 if this next one isn't an improvement.

You are right that it's not a substitute for good storytelling or interesting character. Luckily, Stranger Things has both. One of the biggest surprises of the show was how good the children wear. They somehow managed to cast them all perfectly.

RIP to Gene Wilder

Quote:
Gene Wilder -- star of classics like "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory," "Blazing Saddles," "Young Frankenstein" and more -- has died.

The actor passed away Monday from complications from Alzeimer's disease, according to his agent. The rep says Wilder kept his condition secret because he didn't want to force children -- who still called out "there's Willy Wonka" -- to ask questions about the illness.

Wilder was 83.

For the record, I think ARROW's take on Deathstroke was awesome

Still haven't watched S01Ep03 of Stranger Things yet, so I remain not that excited about the series. I do hope it gets better and will give it a try but, unlike say, Jessica Jones or even Daredevil or GoT, it has not pulled me in or compelled me to watch - right now, my interest is based entirely on trust in the acclaim.
