My God... Aliens is 30 years old. It's hard to believe. Movie holds up well.

Also, I have been starting to look into Preacher again, given the new AMC series. There was a cool promotion for it in Times Square the other day, not that that means anything.
That was really a great series and The Saint of Killers is one of the best characters. I haven't seen him in any of the trailers, but i can't imagine them doing the series without him.

FYI.

Nerds, don't hate me but I thought visually, Prometheus wasn't terrible. foo.gif

I said visually.

The Witcher series could really be the next high-fantasy big thing. The universe is riddled with amazing stories and Geralt is plain fucking cool.

nah but it was difficult not to see Sansa when she's on screen then speaks, she just isn't that great of an actress.

And I almost got into a fight with this dude behind who kept saying hold the door every time she comes on the screen, had to tell him to shut the fuck up!

Regarding the big Captain America twist.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I've heard that the seeds for some sort of time travel shenanigans have been laid out. The theory is that Hydra sent someone back in time to mess with Steve Roger;s childhood to raise him as part of Hydra. If this is the case, then it seems to be something easy enough to fix in the narrative.

That was pretty good!! The future (present) parts were a little muddy (and, understandably, exposition heavy), but once the main story got moving in the 70s, it was a great movie.

Neo is right. The movie is gorgeous, visually. It also has a great high-concept and could have been terrific.
Birdman is also right. It is awful. The movie makes no sense. The plot is stupid and the characters are morons.

What a tragedy. It's like seeing the genius kid from your 8th grade class, picking cigarette butts off the sidewalk to sell for meth money.

Prometheus is also one of the best examples of a live action 3D movie. Ridley Scott is one of the few directors who knows how to use it well. I agree with most of the popular criticisms of the film. That said, I thought David was an amazing character.
