Not really that bad, movie comes out in 5 months.

Civil War had reshoots back in January of this year and took another two and half months to finish (the film) and it comes out next month.

It's not a response to a bad review or a previous movie but it is the norm. Singer was doing some reshoots like 2-3 weeks before DoFP released too iirc.

I'm also waiting for a more reliable source, David Faraci (the guy who everyone uses as a source for this report) is an avid DC hater. Dude was already saying Mos and BvS were terrible months before anyone even saw a screening of the film :lol

Usually there's another outlet or two that confirms reports as big as this but so far I haven't seen it.

friend of mine who works for a very large national movie chain was able to see a rough cut of Civil War recently at a corporate event. rough being some scenes were not fully complete with CGI. he is a person who pretty much has hated every CBM to date, but was really excited about this one. knowing that makes me even more excited to see it.

Yeah but if this report is true it sounds like they are seeking to change the overall tone of the movie. That's a much bigger deal than deciding to reshoot a few scenes because they didn't work. Makes me think that DC realized they sold the wrong film to audiences with the second trailer and may be panicking bring it more in line with the expectations they set.

There's this weird mind trick that happens when you watch a rough cut, especially one with slates for EFX and scratch music. Not only do you give the project the benefit of the doubt you impose your imagination on it making it far better than any film can possibly be.

Months later when you see the final you're quite astonished with how badly they fucked it up.

In fairness, he was right.

Eh, not really fair at all, especially not even before the director was even done finishing the film. Plus both films has proven to be divisive.

They are just rehooting the scenes that already exist, they're just extending it.

And from what I understand, Will Smith might not be involved in the reshoots because he is shooting another film right now (he is physically int he set of that film right now). From that source:

not that they're inserting jokes left and right but that they're beefing up fun character moments and interactions

I don't think that will affect the overall movie.

Plus tens of millions for reshoots seems crazy high if it doesn't even involve it's star and that is why I am looking for a confirmation from a more solid source.

Even Feige has stated that he has done reshoots after some initial screenings didn't get the response he wanted and that is why all Marvel films has reshoots these days.

Both MoS and BvS are mediocre at best. All the "divisiveness" in the world won't change those facts.

Don't be disingenuous RFX. If this is true:

Birth.Movies.Death has the scoop on the Suicide Squad reshoots. According to their source, the latest trailer for Suicide Squad — you know, the “Bohemian Rhapsody” one — is actually a bit misleading, in that it gives away every joke in the movie.

It will change the tone of the movie if they are beefing up fun character moments and adding more humor to the film.

Sounds like they are committing....suicide.

BOOM! You liked it.

That's actually something not a lot of people bring up when being critical about BvS. The studio could have kept some cards close to the vest but nope. They showed damn near everything in the trailers, TV spots, adverts, etc. Wonder Woman, Doomsday, even little things like dead Robin costume. Keeping these as a surprise for the audience wouldn't have saved the film but at least it would have given viewers something new to see and talk about....other than how Snyder ruined yet another CBM

I really don't think it would, if they are 3-4 "fun" scenes, extending those isn't going to change too much.

Then again people responded to that trailer well so maybe it is a good thing they are adding in more scenes? They recognized it and are fixing it.

But there's also the other side who just wants what the director has done and keep it as is but what if it is too "dark"?

I mean there's really nothing here that DC could do to please everybody.

I am not going to say more until there are just more proof that this is in fact happening.

I said that weeks ago and somebody got really butthurt about it. Too damn many trailers. This era of multiple 2-3 minute "teaser" trailers is ridiculous.
