I have no problem with an older Ford running around as long as the script is good and is aware that the main lead isn't young anymore. Not saying it should be filled with jokes about his hip hurting, but the narrative should acknowledge the fact that he can't do what he used to.

Maybe Harrison Ford wants to have a Solo-style exit from this series as well.

EDIT: isn't he also doing a sequel to Blade Runner? Perhaps he's going to try to wrap up all his long-term roles in the same way.

Didn't RedLetterMedia do a 90-minute review on why Indy movies don't work anymore?

Not saying "senior citizen as action heroes" can't work (see: Harry Brown and The Debt) but yeah, what more can be done with the Indy franchise really?

It's been, what - 35 years since Raiders? And about 40 by the time this releases...

RotLA was set in 1936. You have an aged archaeology professor in the midst of flower power at home and Vietnam abroad. Shia LeBeouf is off fighting in a war. Commies be sneaking around somewhere interesting. Dr. Jones goes into Red China?

Jennifer Lawrence & Friends.

Looks super CGIed but I also thought DoFP looked like steaming dog shit from the trailers, so I might have to withhold judgment on this.

What's worse is they seem to keep wanting her to walk around looking like a human instead of her default mutant form. It's something that really bugs me as Mystique may be a shapeshifter, but she has a level of pride in who she is as a mutant.

"mutant and proud" is the most cringeworthy line in all of CBMs history

I don't know. It always worked in the context of who the mutants represented and were always presented as an allegory for.

What never really made sense was the amount of bigotry and racism they got in context of the Marvel Universe as a whole. Captain America, Thor, Fantastic Four all have powers and are loved by the public. Mutants are hated. So it boils down to the fact that if you get powers from a mutation it's bad, but any other way is fine in the eyes of the public. Wrap your head around that. The concept would have always worked better had the mutants been off in their own pocket universe with no other superpowers or if the public hated anyone with them regardless of origin.

If you think the mutants got it bad, try being an Inhuman in the MCU
post #2728 of 3826
No one gave a damn about Inhumans in the Marvel universe or ours till all the movie franchise drama started. The company is going out of their ways to make them the new mutants of the universe and it's not working. They look like a bad copy.

Realize you might be kidding, but either way it needed to be said. smile.gif

That's a shitty episode to start with. The decision by Fox execs to make that the pilot is yet another example of how badly they screwed the show. If you ever do decide to give it a chance, follow Whedon's intended order and start with the episode "Serenity".

Out of Gas was my all around favorite. Followed by Objects in Space.
