Reading this has got me all excited for a movie I had thought was going to be a complete mess.

At first, I didn't care much for "Man of Steel", but comparing it to some of Marvel's more recent "cash grabs" has me appreciating the former as a thoughtful take on comic-book movies. Plus, I reckon the delay in releasing "BvS" could have let the staff do some finer world-building as the Reddit post alludes to. Shocking to me, I might actually give "Suicide Squad" a second look.

I certainly hope we're getting what the Reddit poster says - otherwise, I will be quite disappointed and sad..

Eh, i'd take it worth a grain of salt. I re-read it and it all honestly sounds like too much for a single film. Too dense to make work without pacing issues. It's also all so fanboy wetdreamish sounding...

A couple sites with good sources are claiming they heard it's fake, FWTW.

After a day to let thoughts settle, this is the most likely scenario.

I'll wait for timely word-of-mouth before deciding to see it in theaters.

Several people pointed out he's a little too positive about the film. Usually legit fan have small nitpicks in even the best of films. Perfect example is Batman's voice in The Dark Knight. Epic film, but that part really got to some.

Official B v S synopsis has been released:
Quote:
Following his titanic struggle against General Zod, Metropolis has been razed to the ground and Superman is the most controversial figure in the world. While for many he is still an emblem of hope, a growing number of people consider him a threat to humanity, seeking justice for the chaos he has brought to Earth.

As far as Bruce Wayne is concerned, Superman is clearly a danger to society. He fears for the future of the world with such a reckless power left ungoverned, and so he dons his mask and cape to right Superman’s wrongs.

The rivalry between them is furious, fuelled [SIC] by bitterness and vengeance, and nothing can dissuade them from waging this war. However, a dark new threat arises in the form of a third man: one who has a power greater than either of them to endanger the world and cause total destruction.

The superhero stand-off that the world has been waiting for is finally arriving in cinemas, with an all-star cast bringing to life the characters we all love.

Zack Snyder (300) returns as director following the huge success of 2013’s Man of Steel, along with Henry Cavill (The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) in the role of Superman.

Also starring Ben Affleck (Gone Girl) as Batman, Amy Adams (American Hustle) as Lois Lane, and Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 7) as Wonder Woman, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an explosive, action-packed blockbuster that is sure to thrill DC fans everywhere.

Guess What I finally saw this weekend?

Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron

Thoughts? Don't leave us hanging.

I predict they will have been hits.

OK. I was disappointed to, my surprise, in the Winter Soldier. In particular, there was little sense of paranoia and surprise about the Hydra infiltration of SHIELD. To be honest, that was handled much better in Agents of SHIELD. I was especially disappointed that no one close to Fury or Cap turned out to be Hydra (Robert Redford didn't count). The best sequence of the film was Fury fighting off the assassination attempt. Not good if the star doesn't have the best scene. The helicarrier/Zola plot was idiotic (mathematically determining a billion people are a threat to you and killing them with airborne guns in one swoop). Flashback scenes failed to create emotional connection to Bucky and, in general, that tension was handled poorly. Overall, this was a huge disappointment as it is supposed to be the best of the Marvel movies. Feel was dull and grim, rather than dark and gripping.

Ultron had some great moments and was pretty strong. I thought using Thor for comic relief was a nice touch (Revels; will Thor be there? Good story, etc.). Ultron was played a little to close to the Joker for my taste, but wasn't bad.
The birth of Vision made no real sense and with an infinity gem, he should have been even more of a game changer than he was. I liked Wanda and Pietro although Wanda forgetting she had an accent and making up for it by making it extra thick when she remembered was annoying. Still not sure how Hulk was defeated by the Hulkbuster. But overall, I think this was the best Marvel outing so far.

Loved that Cap could lift Thor's hammer then decided not to. Especially liked the look on Thor's face when Cap started to move it and the smile that returned when he pretended he couldn't.

Did Steve pick up on that and "pretend" he couldn't move it? I thought he just couldn't totally lift it up.

Cap couldn't lift Mjolnir, he just managed to budge it implying he is slightly worthy? But no he cannot lift it even if he wanted to... yet.

I'm pretty sure that Cap has been seen as worthy before in the comics and lifted the hammer in need.

I suppose we can't really know without the writers telling us, but if he could move it and didn't want to hide it you would think he would make lots of noise about having even moved it and he would have kept trying.
And Thor definitely saw it move. If he didn't believe Cap changed his mind we would have expected much ribald merriment and taking the urine. It seems pretty clear it was Cap's choice but, as I said, only the writers know.
