I can't stop looking at Captain America's nose in that art.

It worked in World War Hulk because of the narrative established in Planet Hulk and it not going against Hulk's character. He's fought heroes many times over the years.

It also works when heroes first meet. It's all but an established troupe in comics.

It didn't at all work in the Civil War comic storyline. You had characters acting completely out of the ordinary. Some of the actions taken by certain heroes felt all but insane. The whole storyline was a mess. One of the worst comic events in years. We should all pray that this film is Civil War in name only.

There is a chance this movie could be good but I'll ask it again in this thread. Did you come out of Winter Soldier hopeful the next one would be Avengers 2.5 Super Hero Westlemania? That's not at all what I had in mind.

I thought that elevator scene in Capt. America 2 was pretty decent. Rest of the movie sucked.

Cap2 was the best marvel movie thus far.

Probably my favorite scene of the movie. Whenever the movie is on one of my movie channels I always watch for that scene before changing the channel.

That distinction goes to Guardians of the Galaxy, my friend.

YES for gods sake YES!!!!

I go to a lot of different forums 9comic-book-centric and not) and MANY loves the Civil War arc and A LOT wants that to happen. Any superhero team ups and battles and crossover are always going to be popular especially with Marvel who has pretty much done it already on several films.

This forums really is the only place I've seen any complaints and bitching on it.

So could you please stop asking that stupid question?

Keep the dumb shitting on the Star Wars thread.

The comic book CIVIL WAR is a great arc imo. I've been singing its praises way, way back in this thread since Nil came in asking what it was. JMRouse hated it but it hasn't reached "lefty shitting on the 'Walking Dead' levels" yet....

Winter Soldier was great because of the serious tone and the fact that it was a political thriller. It didn't feel like any other film Marvel has done to date. If you think it's stupid of me to question Marvel wanting to make the direct sequel of it this, well that says more about you then anything else.

It may end up being decent but in no way will it carry on the unique feel of Winter Soldier. This is what bothers me. It has little to do with Marvel wanting to make a Civil War movie. That's fine. Go ahead and make that Movie. It just shouldn't be the continuation of the wonderful groundwork they laid with Winter Soldier. Pointing out that other marvel films do it and are successful makes it pretty clear you have never understood the argument being made here.

In the comics, was it Scarlet Witch or Loki who mind controlled an Avenger to kill Captain America?

Edit, nvm I found this out: Rogers did not die; instead, the villainous Red Skull had Sharon Carter use a gun that transported him to a fixed position in space and time. Since then, Captain America had been phasing in and out of space and time, appearing at events in his lifetime and fighting battles. The Red Skull brings Rogers back to the present, where he takes control of Rogers' mind and body. Rogers eventually regains control, and with help from his allies, defeats the Red Skull"

The Death of Captain America story line was excellent. As was the extended run of Bucky taking over the matle.

It's too bad that Marvel will likely skip that storyline and have Falcon take over eventually instead since they seem committed to it in the comics. Nothing against Falcon. He's great. I just feel like Bucky is the better fit.

It is on you if you can't see what they set up from Cap 2 to A2 and to CW.

Cap clearly separated himself from the government in Cap2 and even furthered himself by creating his own Avengers in A2.

It is still a direct sequel, there is no reason CW still can't be a political thriller, have you seen the fucking film? Does it not look like the government is heavily involved in pitting these heroes against each other? This can't simply follow up the Cap2 and be good because you already made up your mind that more heroes means it can't be good? It can't be political? All you're judging is heroes punching other heroes so it must mean it is just a dumb comic book film.

Did the Cap2 trailer look like it was going to be a "political thriller"?

That is the dumbest shit part of your post. You don't know shit about this film yet you talk like I am the idiot who doesn't get shit when you are bitching about a small snippet of the film they chose to show.

Really getting sick and tired of the unfounded complaints. I get it on F4 after you see it, hell even before since the history of the franchise has been a disaster but this is Marvel, they've been good for what they've been doing and now you doubt their ability?

These threads are really becoming unreadable with the dumb complaints.

This argument of yours that you act like you know the film is just as dumb as you defending the stupid spoiler argument in the Star Wars thread in your high horse, only you deem it what it is before knowing shit about anything.

Edit: As for Falcon taking over instead of bucky, again how the fuck do you know this? You do know that most believe Evans will leave and Bucky will take over because Sebastian Stan signed a 9-film deal with Marvel, right?
