That Saved By The Bell skit was fantastic. I remember when Jimmy tried to do a reunion for the show on his old show. Managed to get all the cast to agree to it but Kelly. It's humorous to see her do a 180 for the exposure now that he's on the Tonight Show.

I thought she eventually said yes and it was Screech who pretty much didn't want to do it? I don't think Screech would ever join a reunion at all though and the others are probably happier without him anyways.

And I was surprised Lisa wasn't there, iirc she said yes back then. I guess it's her skin condition that prevented her from doing the show?


Not even going to lie, I caught the terrible "biography" made for tv film for the show that aired on Lifetime last year.

Netflix Is Developing a Live-Action ‘Legend of Zelda’ Series

“The Legend of Zelda,” one of the most popular videogame series of all time, is in the works as a television show at Netflix.

The video streaming service is in the early stages of developing a live action series based on “Zelda,” about an ordinary boy named Link who must rescue a princess named Zelda and save a fantasy world called Hyrule, said a person familiar with the matter. As it seeks writers to work on the show, Netflix is describing it as “Game of Thrones” for a family audience, this person said.

The “Zelda” games have traditionally included swords and sorcery, like “Game of Thrones” or “Lord of the Rings,” but typically with a more light-hearted, kid-friendly tone.

Netflix is said to be working closely with Nintendo, the Japanese game developer that has made about 20 “The Legend of Zelda” games since the original, which was released in the U.S. in 1987.

Nintendo is very protective of its intellectual property and has allowed few adaptations over the years. An animated “Legend of Zelda” series ran for just one season in 1989. A 1993 movie based on Nintendo’s “Super Mario Bros.” was an infamous bomb.

As it is still seeking a writer to work on the series, Netflix has a long road to travel before a “Legend of Zelda” series actually becomes a reality. It’s also possible that Netflix or Nintendo will kill the project before it gets off the ground.

A Netflix spokeswoman declined to comment. A Nintendo spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

With Jupiter Ascending being not just a flop but also just a terrible film overall, could we pretty much call the Wachowskis a fluke?

^ No more a fluke than M. Night Shyamalan after Sixth Sense or George Lucas after Star Wars IMO. I have to give Wachowski props for at least pushing some original material amid all the remakes, reboots, sequels, prequels, etc. out there. They are very ambitious and you can tell there is some genuine love in their set designs, creature creations, and world buiding as opposed to the generic "city being attacked" set pieces we see from Michael Bay and Roland Emmerich.

But M. Night isn't making big budget films though unlike the Wachowskis whose films have been in the $200m-$300m range. And M Night at least tries to make the film interesting throughout until he shatters it with the twist in the end. Unbreakable was pretty damn good too though and I like Signs, **** legit scared the crap out of me the first time I saw it and when that alien was first shown, it gave me shivers ain't gon' lie. So that was at least 3 films I enjoyed from him before going downhill.

As for Lucas, I feel he at least made a competent trilogy (actually a really good/great trilogy) while outside of the first Matrix being a really good film (arguably great?) everything else after has sucked for the Wachowskis. I mean they can't even finish up the Matrix trilogy well. I'd also give Lucas some credit for Indiana Jones while the Wachoskis followed up the Matrix with Speed Racer, Cloud Atlas and Jupiter Ascending.

Cloud Atlas budget: $100 million
Jupiter Ascending budget: $176 million

Avatar: Last Airbender budget: $150 million
After Earth budget: $130 million


They are basically even past decade. I agree with you though that they are very different filmmakers (M. Night makes superb smaller budget films) but when Hollywood is giving you that much cash to make movies, you are splitting hairs I think.

George Lucas is given way too much credit for Star Wars and Indy. If you watch documentaries detailing those movies; a lot of the credit after the first Star Wars can actually be traced to Irvin Kershner, Richard Marquand, and Steven Speilberg (the actual directors of the the films). Which is why when Lucas was given full control of Episodes 1-3, we got that unmitigated mess. I liken it to Kanye working with Nike and giving us great Yeezy 1 and Yeezy 2. When he got pissy and wanted full control, he left for Adidas and is giving us wet paper bags and calling it the Yeezy 3.

Damn I completely forgot M Night did After Earth and AirBender. I was just thinking of the Village, Lady Water and the Happening. I also liked Devil but M Night just wrote that iirc.


I think Cloud Atlas was considered an "independent film" and the most expensive of all independent films ever, wasn't it? I remember that being the drama over that films production.


I will admit I am not a Star Wars or Indiana Jones fanboy, I like the whole lore and films but I never really dove deeper that simply watching the films so seeing his name and watching the film and I just thought he was still mainly responsible for it. I know he only co-wrote Indiana Jones with Spielberg, no? Or did he not even write anything there?

^ Dude, you should watch clips on Youtube. Lucas proposes all these garbage ideas like "Indiana Jones and The Saucer Men" & "Indiana Jones And The Attack of the Giant Ants" and Spielberg is just like... George Lucas practically begged him to make CRYSTAL SKULL until Spielberg finally gave up. I find it no surprise that Disney did not want Lucas ideas for the new STAR WARS.

I think I might sound fan boyish here but I think a director that balances intriguing, interesting concepts and characters with a big budget is Chris Nolan. Maybe Whedon too depending on how AoU ends up. I think you can make the argument JJ Abrams is competent too.
