Yeah, what the Marvel movies need is more alien invasions and exploding robots!

Actually I read a blurb recently that Sony was negotiating Spiderman rights to Marvel for a team up

What they don't need is a convoluted story-line which betrays the very nature of some of the characters just for an excuse to see heroes punch other heroes.

It was trending on FB the other week. It would be neat but who really knows? We will probably see Yoda team up with the Avengers before Spider-Man does. :facepalm:

So, at the conclusion of the 5-year mission they set off on at the end of the last movie...? What's the point of the 5-year mission?

Edit: several years. I think it'll be during the second half of the 5 year mission

I like the idea of them jumping ahead a little. Makes the crew a little more seasoned.

In regards to the Borg... I'm not so sure that would work. Wouldn't they be overpowered easily with the technology they currently have in that timeline? Plus I felt like the Borg got played out towards the end. Would rather see something new or even just the Klingons getting a moment to shine.

CIvil War storyline isn't as impactful without Spider-Man.

Thank you. No Civil War without Spidey. Hope they solve it so he can join the Marvel cinematic universe.

I have a feeling of they do go this route then it will be a very loose adaptation of the story. Keep in mind that the Marvel Movieverse doesn't even have a lot of masked heroes with secret identities to register.

@Jr Mouse

It could be an interesting plotline if the new movie cast discovered the Borg earlier in the new timeline. (Doesn't TNG take place about 80 years after TOS?)

I re-watched Q Who and Best of Both Worlds a few nights ago. Q Who was the one where Picard and company discover the Borg. They hold up well.

Still, probably would be cheap if the new movies poached from TNG material.

First Contact was definitely my favorite movie in the series

One of the best popcorn movies of the 90s

Wasn't there another rumor they'd time-travel incorporate Shatner?

Not to go all Rambo here, but baby Picard? Ugh...

Shatner will have a cameo in it. Rumor is he will be shown in a brief flash forward. The adult version of the new timeline's Kirk. Which makes sense because he died in the original timeline.
