The Carmina shops in Madrid generally have a sale on selected shoes after the Epiphany holiday (that will be Jan. 6th, 2012). I don´t recall the nicer, high-end ones (eg, Cordovan) being on sale, but discounts on other models were about 10-20% last year.

I stopped by the one in Paris last week on Ave L'Opera. Prices are 360 Euro for most calf shoes and 550 Euro for shell. They said they will have a sale in Jan and one possibly before Christmas, but not sure which shoes. Discounts around 20 to 30%.

I hope they accept orders over email/phone and apply the discounts. After VAT deduction it's going to be such a steal.

Worth another round of non-responsive emails.

They won't deduct VAT if you place your order via phone or e-mail. You may ask for the forms, required for customs at the airport, which you will have to stamp by yourself.

But they will reject to deduct VAT by themselves at the check out. It is applicable both to Spanish and Paris shops.

Customer service, ease of purchase, special order shoes. I've heard people having so much difficulty ordering directly from Carmina.

Don't buy from Epaulet or the Armoury and save $200. Carmina very recently started selling their shoes online, bear in mind we can take off 20% VAT (I think?).

The sizing on their webstore is extremely confusing to me. They say a 46 European is equivalent to an 11.5 US and an 11 UK? Also, what size are they using? It's not indicated if they are sizing in US or UK.
