The challenge is simple. Wear a suit, SC or pants that are of a Glen Plaid or Prince of Whales pattern. Any color is allowed, over checks are welcome, as long as it is a GP or PoW pattern. I am tempted to say that using a suit or SC garners 2 bonus votes over pants, but I am undecided as of yet. \ Fits must be entered by 9PM EST on Saturday, Feb 1st. GP/PoW fabric samples for now, will try and get some inspiration pics later.

A closer view of the tie, because there really is a lot of detail in there. Really fine black and gold stripes on top of paisley. Not sure where that idea came from, but it adds a depth and visual texture to the tie that I like.

No Groucho Marx glasses this time because I'm lazy, and pardon the mess in the background.

Fake opinion: I'd say pants should get +2 points, as patterned pants are much harder to pull off than either a suit or a sports coat. Though PoW is very much a suit fabric. Perhaps a -2 handicap for wearing it in suit form (as its clearly the least challenging approach)

Actual opinion: I did the bonus vote thing for that particular challenge because I wanted to encourage people to wear as many SF Family items as possible (otherwise, people would just post a square/tie combo and call it a day). I don't think the bonus is a good idea in general though. My .02

Is a fit from last week eligible? I'm travelling now, without PoW...

Clags - I'm just trying to punish you because I know you want to wear GP/PoW pents only.

Eliod - I will allow it. Anything from the past two weeks is okay by me.

Thee pieces of PoW awesomeness must be rewarded extra, right? Do I get an extra bonus if I can also include a PoW tie? :smarmy:

Whatever you post I will deduct six votes from your total. :box:

You are welcome to try and include a tie as well, the last time I did that I got a lot of mixed reviews though LOL.

I am against the bonus points scheme. I also hope that you'll go with a single-vote poll this week. Make folks make a decision, dammit. :nodding:

I will have to watch from the sidelines on this one, as I'm on vacation starting this evening. While you gents are posting GW/PoW suits/jackets/trousers, I'll be at Covent Garden, attempting to survive four hours of Massenet's "Manon", in a two-piece navy track stripe suit. (No, that's not a navy track suit, either, you wags! What sort of chav do you take me for?)
