Help Identifying leather on AE Randolph's.

So I was watching this auction for some supposed AE Cordovans. Had a low starting bid and a BIN of 275. So figured I'd watch. And as it was winding down it didn't jump up much so figured I'd take a shot and see. I'll be honest I didn't study the pictures other than of the uppers and didn't see many small wrinkles. And didn't believe they made Randolph's in polished cobbler. Granted the pictures are awful I missed it not having a combination heel. However its not the standard AE V heel. So thinking possibly it could have gotten a new heel. The soles look original. So wanted to get some opinions. I keep going back and forth. Won't really know till they get here. Even if they are calf still a decent deal as I've worn holes through my JM loafers and while ok don't want to recraft or buy replacements. Dabbled with some calf Park Avenues and really enjoy them. So wanted to try some loafers. Thoughts?

Well I finally got them in the mail and they're def. shell. For $78 figured I'd give them a try. Little more worn than the pictures showed and have what appears to be some sole paint on the leather. Never having a pair on the 79 last I can feel the narrow heel but it feels pretty loose in the middle. Debating whether a recraft will help out the wear ability of them. Or just to resell.
