What's Vassar's current tuition? I'd look it up but I suffer from a chronic illness that some call laziness.

Around the same as other comparable schools -- a mere $ 37,570 for the coming school year, according to their web site.

Seeing that figure strikes fear into my heart, given that I just finally paid off my student loans (from when tuition was considerably less) last year.

UCLA & Balliol College, Oxford

I value my entire education about on a par with a bucket of warm spit!

Did any of you Vassar guys know Tom McHugh? Education professor? I knew him a little after he retired from Vassar in the 90s.

I went to Washington College.

Damn, brother. I thought I was the only one in that kind of boat.

If you had to do it over again, where would you go? I am a little surprised to read this, particularly because one can sense the nostalgia when you post about your Oxford years....

That's obscene for tuition. The funny thing is that none of the 10 most expensive schools (tuition-wise) are in the top 30 or 40 colleges in the county. I never understood where places like Kenyon, Sarah Lawrence, GWU -- although all fine schools -- get away with charging that much while Ivy League schools and other comparable institutions are 5-10k cheaper.

Are you referring to those who studied abroad for a semester or two, or those who actually received a full education from an overseas university?

EA, we have much in common as I did this too. And I'm also from Texas and love the movie Rushmore. Congrats on Cambridge -- cherish it and make the most of its magic. Your years there may be the best of your life =)
