Suit sleeve with surgeon cuffs too long, no one locally willing to make alterations...

I don't know where to post this, but it is driving me absolutely insane now. The first two MTM suits I made awhile ago have suit sleeves that are 2.75 inches too long; they extend way past the wrist bone and almost to the point where the thumb and the index finger make an upside down V. Back then I didn't know about proper sleeve length.

Now I can never give a presentation or brief a document with those suits without getting distracted and angry at the fact that no shirt cuff is showing and that the suit sleeves are too long.

I know that this is an alteration that needs to be done from the shoulder. I also know that it is not always possible. In my case, I have large upper arm muscles and shoulders so I'd think that the upper sleeves are definitely wide enough to remove from the jacket, chop off 2.75 inches, and re-attach.

There is something about sleeves that are too long that really irks me. At this point, I am willing to have the two suit jackets shipped anywhere in the continental U.S. to someone willing to do this alteration. If this is not the right forum, please move it or tell me where such a request would be most appropriate.

Thanks.

What city are you in? Provided it's a major one, you should be able to find a tailor.

Also, what MTM company did you use. That's a pretty ridiculous mistake on their part.

Why did you not refuse them when delivered?

Seriously, this is an egregious error. Where did you have them made? They should fix this.

You will need to see a tailor in person to get this properly measured and fixed. Make sure that tailor is well qualified, ideally one who makes custom suits.

When you got fitted, what did you have on? Tee-shirt? Polo? Etc.
You need to always get fitted with a proper dress shirt on....

Measure up from the hem, 2 3/4" may take out all the buttonholes and you can shorten from the bottom. It is doubtfull you can shorten that amount from the top of the sleeve and still have enough fullness for the sleeve to fit properly.
