Very slowly, my stomach is beginning to balloon outwards. Since the age of 12 or so, I've been rail-thin, but all of a sudden I've noticed my gut is no longer flat.

Now, I think the answer is obvious: I need to exercise. I haven't been to the gym in months. Clearly, that's a horrible thing, considering I'm 19 and should be going to the gym multiple times a week.

To keep the pounds off, what would you recommend as a daily exercise? Is running the best way to just burn some calories? I think I'll go for a jog in an hour or two (once it cools down).

I think you've been drinking and eating too much.

Perhaps, you should go on a diet of Gitanes and whiskey. Or, like Slimane, baby food.

You're drinking too much. Stop drinking so much.

Secondly, if you like/can stand jogging, it will help, but building muscle will burn calories better.

Honestly, I've had no more than five nights of drinking since early May. But I'm sure that contributes to it.

If you can lift weights and run (not at the same time) that will get you much slimmer than running by itself.

Gitanes are still being produced?

Running is great for losing weight, it also gives you the oppurtunity to clear your mind. Well, I find that useful anyway.

I lift weights and walk on my treadmill (running hurts my knees) at the same time. I use 15lb dumbbells and 5lb plates, do curls and rows and stuff while walking with the bells, then hold the plates up in a boxing stance and/or swing them, raise my arms with them, do uppercut motions, etc. while "resting" from that. I'm sure it looks ridiculous (there are no observers), but it definitely wears you out fast. I do need to get some of those grip weights though, the plates are awkward to hold.

+1 on stop drinking, or at least cut back on the binge drinking. Cut back on snacking and desserts. It's amazing how many calories are in basic snacks. Even something like a slice of cake can be around 1/5 of your daily calories.

TO answer seriously, stop drinking soda, drink less beer, walk around and don't snack. You are basically normal size and as a young guy you already have very fast metabolism. Don't slow it down with too much alcohol and you will be just fine.

Please. For God's sake, Connie is 19. Run. "Jogging" or walking is for old men or women.

Get a gym membership and use the treadmills. If you stay dependent of the weather and wait till it cools down to exercise, comes winter, you'll get obese. Seriously.
