I have a pair of Alden plain toe bluchers on the barrie last in size 10D which are a bit roomy, works with a thick sock. Also I have another pair of plain toe bluchers on the barrie last in size 9.5D which are on the snug side, with thinner socks.

I just pulled the trigger here and I went with 9.5 due to the fact that the snugness on my 9.5D Aldens comes from the width rather than length and these are supposed to be more of an E width.

But christ almighty if im certain, this will be a rather painful waiting process

I just couldnt help myself though.

Regarding sizing of 2030 vs 2045 here is the response I received from Morgan at Viberg

"The 2030 last runs a little long. However it's narrower than the 2045, which also has more room in the toe box. I personally wear a 9.5 in both comfortably."

Fok, will this MTO boot have any StyleForum logo stamped on the insole or anything that will make it unique to SF?
All the Styleforum makeups have the "Viberg exclusively for Styleforum" stamped on the insole. We chose to do this because these projects are truly collaborative with the Styleforum community, and deserves credit as such.

Beats having to look at the J.Crew logo every time I put on my shell Alden boots.

I also wear EU42.5 (US9.5D) and am going with size 9, which is my Alden Trubalance size. With a boot, better to go a little big rather than a little small. You'll be wearing it with thicker socks, and there are more eyelets to lace up and keep your foot secure.

will be sizing the same way :slayer:

... the only reason that's keeping me from kopping right away is because i'm timing/anticipating when the Teck Cordo "Allan" MTO [ie, SF x Tricker's x SH] is slated to drop. unlike some folks around here, i have a very limited discretionary fund to work with :embar:

Since these have an unstructured toe, they will be totally unlined, correct?

i think there will be leather lining @vamp, as with most [if not all] their service boots
A leather lining at the vamp is integral to the construction of the boots: at the front of the boot, the lining is attached to the insole, while the upper is stitched to the midsole, and then there's some overlap where both the upper and lining are attached to the insole, and then the lining stops and it's just the upper.

Heh, I can relate to this.. Kind of a tragedy tbh since I've got like 15 pairs of Tricker's, Aldens and what not just collecting dust now days. Vibergs truly are something quite different both aesthetically and qualitywise.
True that, the quality really blew me away, tough as nails.

Thanks for the input, guys. I need to research how Viberg constructs their boots. I'm familiar (not an expert by any means) with GY welting, Blake/Blake rapid construction, etc. The wait begins and it's not even Feb 15 yet.

These boots are stitch-down constructed, like a lot of the work boots of the North West. It's a very durable, water-resistant construction. For me, it's more desirable than GYW, since it uses mostly leather, and a steel shank, verus the canvas ribbing and cork filling in GYW'd boots.

Thanks for taking the time to respond and educating me. So are Vibergs veldtschoen constructed? Or is their stitch-down construction different from veldtschoen? And Vibergs don't use any cork filling?
