Is this the same leather as in the collab? Love the rust shade here

Take a look at this link for the comparison in Viberg lasts. http://vibergboot.wordpress.com/2012/12/11/lasts/. I believe the 2040 is pretty similar in shape to the 2045.

Also there won't be any speed hooks on this make up.

I hope the toe on the 2045 is more similar to the toe on the 110/2030.....the 2040 pops a bit too much for my liking

edit; nobody has a link to the 2045 plastic mold or whatever you call it?

They're waxed flesh service boots on the 2045 last. Boondockers are roughouts on 110 (or 2030). Or am I missing something..?

Thanks for the last comparisons. It looks like the 2040 has a pretty significant upturn in the toe. Isn't the 2045 going to have an unstructured toe?

Also, when you say it uses the same pattern are you referring to paneling? The service boot with a pull-up tab looks to different dovetail paneling than a service boot without a pull-up tab..

Alternatively, if someone wants to show off their MS Paint skills and use the white mock-up pic (110 last) on the product page as a canvas to show me how the boot we are ordering (2045 last) will differ then I would be very grateful.

Sorry for the confusion. I was just saying that the boondocker is based on the service boot that Viberg offers, the main difference being that the boondocker is plain toe. Viberg has makes of the boondocker that aren't in rough out, they had a pair on Leffot made from CXL. I don't think the last has anything to do with the style of the boot. The boondocker is currently offered in 110, 2030 and this one will be 2045.

The only difference between the make on the first page and the make up for this order is the last, there will be no speed hooks and the toebox will be unstructured.

This boot http://viberg.com/collections/footwear/products/country-derby-boot-brown-waxed-flesh uses the same leather, so this is what it will look like before it's worn in.

This is now starting to make sense to me! So, to clarify, the boot we are ordering will essentially be a boondocker (meaning it will be styled exactly like the one on Viberg's website) with waxed flesh on a 2045 last?

The make is based on this boondocker here: http://vibergboot.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/20131208-081951.jpg

This one is worn in, but it is the waxed flesh.

The only changes from the one above that will be made are different last (2045 instead of 110) and no speed hooks.

The differences between the boondocker and the service boot are listed below. Plain-toed and leather-soled service boots aren't necessarily boondockers.

As far as I know there's an extra row of stitching on the counter and vamp for the boondocker. I think the pattern is the same, but I can't say for sure.

This boot is not the same leather as the collab--afaik, that was the Vintage Tan leather, no longer offered. The boot you would be ordering here is made with brown wax flesh, same as the Country Derby boot currently on Viberg.com.

That's the picture that made me look up Viberg for first time about 2 months ago. Such a beautiful boot. Ever since I have been following Viberg looking for something similar, I settled on this one. Not because it's similar, but because it's as stunning. I'm sure if I would of skipped on this one I would of found another one in a couple of months

I have to confess that I don't own any Vibergs, and have never even tried a pair on. My "advice" is cobbled together from posts by others who do have experience with Vibergs. I do think it's helpful to get away from thinking "what is my size in UK sizing" to "what does this shoe fit like."

Just placed my order!

Went with 10.5 - same size as my Barrie and Trubalance boots. Hopefully that's the right decision.

I also ordered the Viberg natty CXL rough out Boondockers from Leffot last week ( http://leffot.com/shop/index.php/shoes/viberg/boondocker-boot-natural-aniline.html ), and was hoping to receive and try those on before placing this order. Even though the Leffot boot is on the 2030 last, I thought it would provide some comfort regarding sizing for this 2045 last boot, and Viberg boots generally (since these will be my first Vibergs). Delivery was supposed to be tomorrow (Friday) but UPS just sent me a notice of delay "due to adverse weather conditions." So I'm in a day early.

Thanks & congrats to all those who contributed to putting this makeup together - especially Fok for spearheading the order and getting it done so quickly (you could make big bucks as a project manager Fok). It's going to be a simple and clean style boot in a great leather. Personally I would have preferred 8 sets of eyelets and either nickel or matching eyelets, but 7 sets and brass are going to be fine too. Can't wait!

Thank you!  I think that you'll be happy with these.

We are now up to 20 orders.  This is gonna be a cool makeup.  Let's get all those orders in so that I can get them into production.

Alright, so it's basically this boot (http://viberg.com/products/service-boot-black-horsehide) with waxed flesh, commando sole, and a pull-up tab?

Sorry, I'm out guys...I live far too close to Viberg to not make a day trip to meet Guy in person and see the "magic."

AC, sorry to put you on the spot regarding sizing. I thought thought that your summarization of earlier posts was helpful.
