Every time I see another fit in this thread it warms the cockles of my heart.

archi - I have a similar plan in mind for my fit, but I think that yours looks better than what I have in mind.

In terms of making it look good, sure. I was thinking more in what social context I'd wear the thing vs. say odd trousers and an odd jacket.

I took blue to its logical conclusion; Navy Drake's woven Shantung tie, navy M&S suit, light blue shirt and PS, navy socks.
