Possible to Tailor Jeans that are 4-5" too big?

Hey,

I want to buy this pair of Red Pepper Jeans:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-Pepper-Original-Comfort-Fit-Jeans-Dark-Blue-31738-/200957029267?pt=US_CSA_MC_Jeans&var=500181445522&hash=item2ec9f8eb93

Unfortunately, they are 4-5 inches too big for me.  Is it possible to tailor these jeans so they fit properly?  Not just at the waist but everywhere.  One main concern for me is that there is a lot of embroidery on the jeans.

Thanks

In this case, I think it shouldn't be a problem. With a competent tailor, they will look just as good after the alterations as they do now.
