I'm 20 and I have a really nice two bedroom apartment. If I left it to my roommate to design our spot we will have **** em rugs and red couches everywhere. Although I am young I want my apartment to have a sophisticated look. I really want to take my time with it. Offer suggestions please

used liquor bottles on top of kitchen cabinets. Is this tacky? Should I just throw my bottles away when we finish them? lol

okay in this space I am not sure what I should do. Should I put a dining table? I mean me and roomate can always just eat on the island. But I feel like something should go here. Should I just put a bookshelf against the wall next to that window and call it a day?

Our barstools maaaaaad suck I know. We are buying new ones these are temporary.

this is the living room

Get rid of the bottles. Don't be silly. If you need a chair, buy one that you like. If your taste is sophisticated it'll come across. Though your confusion over the bottles doesn't bode well for the future of the apartments level of sophistication.

Easy suggestion is buy a couch two chairs and a coffee table. Kill the blinds unless this is a first floor unit and put up curtains.

Stick with something simple color wise so that you can keep it when you move.

Your 20, don't go crazy buy some ikea furniture in a good style and call it a day.

A neutral shag or flokati rug, a gray fabric upholstered sofa (sectional if you like), a comfy lounge chair, coffee table, entertainment console with a TV, maybe a floor lamp and you're set.

Try to keep the kitchen clutter free. A knife block, coffee/espresso machine, and maybe a stand mixer are all you should really have on the counter. A bowl of fresh fruit on the island is all you need.
