Some younger runners - and older ones - are prone to more=better fallacies. God help you if you're an up-and-coming runner either struggling to make elite times, or keep your elite status.

Some runners have died from water intoxication, so nothing is ever completely 'safe'.

I used to apply some of these sports creams to aching bones. No more. A cousin who is a doctor, told me that the burning/cooling sensation created by these creams, serves primarily as a distraction from pain. He told me just to take aspirin. Not that aspirin can't be over 'prescribed.'
