Neck tightness is a progressive thing.  Don't end up on relaxers.

Yoga therapy balls are great for neck/trap tightness. There are a variety of movements that help, but the best I've found is to pin the ball between the top of your trap and the side of a wall, sort of like you're lunging into it. Lean, hold, and release.

I had slept wrong, which caused it to hurt for a couple days, so it's not anything medical.
