I think these are lovely ties. The burgundy seems rich and should be easily paired with suits.

I was interested in how to accommodate/complement the yellow stripes. The stripes are the right scale and certainly the color gives it some pop. @Sotiris had a similar tie with orange stripes from Drakes that he paired with a gray suit...with yellow, I wonder if a rich brown would be the best pairing? Navy suits/jackets should work of course with the stripes, but the tie has a navy base?

Navy on Navy is Noodle's territory :D

Anyway, as the navy yellow stripe is a repp silk ties, it's quite crisp yet light at the same time due to the minimal lining by Vanda. All in all, i think that the tie gives a distinctive feel to it, very different from other ties that I own.

Ah, that's the tie I almost ordered. Actually tried to order. Then I went to sleep without hitting "submit" on the credit card payment. When I woke up, realized what I have failed to do, and tried to re-order....it was too late. Seems like one came back in stock? My guess is that for some reason, my order half processed, and taking it out of stock in their system. Unfortunately, I recently got a Hober to replace it, thinking it was lost forever.

Which Hober?  I've been looking for a nice burgundy neat and have not been real pleased with any of the ones David has available.

Also, Bigi Cravatte ties, normally ~140USD from NMWA, can be had for 45 dollars or so from Barney's Warehouse as the Father's Day sale stacks.

newshoes, going to bed now, but I'm wearing the tie tomorrow.

Not me...but I did have to look at Barneys after Clags note:

This seems to be the best of the bunch, but they are all 3 inch widths.

Well, we can agree that there are ties that are too wide and ties that are too narrow. Probably we can all agree that 4 inches is too wide for the tie blade and 2.75 I am going to venture, too narrow, for ties you would wear with a suit. Then YMMV.

I don't think a 3 inch tie will work well with your formosa: the Formosa looks to have nice wide lapels and given the narrowness of the above tie, the knot will be smaller and the amount of material from the knot also narrower (you can compensate slightly with a DFIH). I like a bit more fullness in the knot and the front blade throughout. It's a small difference, but it does matter to me. Again, YMMV.

But I'd love to be proven wrong: please put on a 3 inch wide tie and wear one of your lovely formosas, jacket unbuttoned.:)

Of course, with narrower lapels, a narrower tie would be more appropriate.
