I'm only posting recs from NMWA and Henry Carter on this as gdl and Henry Carter are the only AV's that are really active in the community. Oh, and Shibumi and Panta. They coo

This one is really nice, but I'm iffy about patterned grenadines, as I think you are as well. Still. Good for S/S

The colors say F/W. I say the texture says it as well (though tradition says otherwise). Still, it's beautiful.

This one is nice. And it has an added bonus of one of @gdl203's pubic hairs. That isn't beard.

This shibumi has some fantastic colors. It may require you to own a linen jacket though to really wear well.

This will probably be my next tie. Which is a pretty strong endorsement. Because I never buy bad ties. I especially never buy thick, horizontally striped knits that are super hard to wear.

One of the few patterned grenadines I feel comfortable getting behind. I think that the pattern is wide enough that the weave doesn't interfere visually.

Panta and HC aren't stocking any striped ties at the moment. So. Sad face. Also, Stitchy, you might check out Mountain & Sackett. Made in America. Cares about autism. I care about autism. So. That's a good substitute for being involved in SF as a member (as opposed to as just an AV). Plus super reasonably priced.

thanks everyone for the recs. a lot of great options for the thinner stripe on ground, but i am still in search of a two color block stripe. conrad wu had one with a thin white stripe between the red and blue and i should have got one of those when i had the chance.

Didn't Conrad just restock that one?

Here's my pic in a slightly higher quality. It was taken by waiting for ebb to uncover the seaweed covered rocks, climbing all the way out and nearly losing my footing in the process! I wish I had a real camera, but it was fun taking pictures with my iphone!

i am officially open to recommendations.

@Rudals: hahaha, thanks!

@in stitches: We might be talking about a different tie, but he posted on his thread about restocking it very soon. Just a heads up, might be worth waiting for if it's your favourite.

Great choice. What are your measurements? Forget about tag sizes...you have to go by measurements for stuff you can't try on first.

I do 38R for Zegnas but everyone here screams at me for wearing one size too small. My waist size is 30/31. If the Formosa is cut traditionally and not tapered then I believe I should go with 38R. I will have shoulders and etc measured today and see where I fit. But looking at the pants size for 40R, it was like 34~36. That means I would have to do mad alterations on them.

I'm not sure I like the way they (TyT ties) knot though I do like many of the patterns and fabrics.

C&A has a few that he bought in the Exquisite Trimmings thread. I found the knot a bit too big (he was kind of enough to send me a shot via PM, but I think you can tell from the pics he posted in that thread).
