Ugh...the water is under the bridge. I'll just make sure I make good decision next time and forward.

Noodles, I have a homework assignment for you.

Find 5 suits from the link below (a customized eBay search)
1). Grey
2). Charcoal
3). Navy
4). Tan
5). Brown

Pay careful attention to the cut of the suit. We will ask you why you think it's a good cut for you

Mr. Fields in Georgetown, DC has been recommended by many thus far. He starts off at $3k.

when you are ready for bespoke, fields is your best bet. local, experienced, nice and makes amazing stuff.

Noodles, I'm going to give you an "Incomplete" for this assignment and have you do it over again with some modifications.

You did not follow the directions of the assignment! You found a black Zegna suit! Also, you seemed to pick a big-fitting Kiton suit without any consideration for your slim build!

Redo the assignment for this evening:

1). Solid Grey
2). Solid Charcoal
3). Solid Navy
4). Patterned grey
5). Patterned grey

Yes, this is the point of the exercise. (Not full retail!) However, you can also pull from the B&S subforum classifieds and Yoox. But the suits have to be from these quality makers. Again, be careful about the cut of the suit.

Belay that order from Professor Stitch! NMWA is great stuff, but there are no sales at the moment!

The name of the game here is "off-retail price"

I don't think this is a good homework assignment. We want to work on his selection ability, not his bargain hunting ability. He needs to learn what works and what doesn't. Restricting him to discounted stuff isn't going to do that. Now if he starts batting .750...then we can encourage him to look at eBay/Yoox/etc

there is always a 10% SF discount code on NMWA, and i dont care if it costs a little or a lot more. the probability of him getting something awesome from NMWA is 100% and free and easy returns, while the bay and yoox are total crap shoots. NMWA FTW.
