Might use a black or dark navy grenadine/knit, what do you think?

Nice Iso!

No and no. Get yourself some nice medium/light grey wool trousers, and a well fitting navy blazer.

Really? I was on the fence about the jacket, but the pants were awesome I thought.

Steffen the partial lining is at the knot area or can you see the interlining closer to the tip. Curious what they mean by partial lining.

Also hand rolled just at the tip or up the blade. Reference my Conrad Wu is ha drilled at tip only (roughly) but vanda and drakes are hand rolled along the entire length or at least more

Cheers

well, my only reference is a wool tie - the silks I own are standard 3-fold fully lined. The wool is only lined at the knot area and as far as I can make out, only hand rolled at the tip, but I am not 100 percent sure. Have you checked the Pictures on their website ? They are pretty detailed

IM a but ocd about tie construction. I actually like the slate blue grenadine with brown dots. Not a staple but I think quite nice. I'm with Hober and Henry Carter about having interlining on grenadines to maintain structure.

Here's something I've learned. If you are going to have hand rolling all the way up you want an interlining on light weight silk else the hand rolling creates a "crease" along the blade. It can also affect the knot on thicker fabrics such as tweed, increasing bulk. Small things of course but there it is. Of course all this varies wrt material, type of interlining etc.

FYI

From Mathias Berg

"It is lined all the way through the tie, only the tip is cut off."
